the same thing we've been doing since the end of july, posting finds as replies. unless someone volunteers to pick it up where AU Tiger left off and start a new thread.

Hey folks-
I'd be interested in hearing about places where I can get the Rebel Strike bonus disk (with the old school vector Star Wars game) without preordering. I've read reports of it being available at Best Buy for $5, but so far I haven't been able to find it at my local BBs.

Thanks!

the first post gets out of date way too quickly anyway. When do you take something off of the first post? How do you know when the sale is over?

Its better to just post replies when you find something, anyway.

It's only been a couple of weeks, with no great bargains that haven't been mentioned in the thread. No reason to update more often than once a month during the slow periods, IMHO.

It looks like various Targets are clearing out some of their older GC games. I just picked up Need 4 Speed II Hot Pursuit for $6.84! :D

This game is a blast! Especially the cop/speeder mode where one player has to catch the other in a speed trap. Excellent!

i've done that enough already in Soul Calibur II on the missions that require you to beat 5 different players and you find out the last challenger is your worst nightmare (Ivy) and you get whooped... over and over again... sigh =P

Just a quick heads up, plenty of $5 Rebel Strike bonus discs at the BestBuy in Tallahassee, FL. Are all BestBuys selling it? (despite the huge 'Not For Resale' block on the front of it)

I didn't have any cash to buy Rebel Strike right now (thanks F-Zero and SC2), but I really wanted to get the stuff on this demo before it disappeared from shelves and I'd have to shell out dough on eBay for it.

For anybody who hasn't played the Star Wars arcade game before, go to mame.dk, and try it out. It's not very hard/deep, so it might not be worth the $5 or so to some of you. But the demo for Rebel Strike looks and plays great, and the Gladius demo is pretty good looking.

I only wish Nintendo would a) start putting out demo discs say, monthly or bimonthly, with all the hot new games to test out and b) offers more old remakes (SNES, N64) as bonuses with upcoming GC titles (Star Fox 64, Mario Kart 64, Zelda: Majora's Mask - those sound good or what?). Though with Mario Kart, they could just find a way to put the old tracks in as unlockables (like the stages from Smash Brothers 64 in SSBM)

Picked up the star wars demo disk here in Jersey tonight. Definetly less than impressed with it, haven't played the arcade game yet, but I did play the level demo. The graphics (despite everyone going nuts over them) looked very similar to rogue leader. The on-foot section was pretty boring, and the in-air stuff felt exactly like the first game. As much as I enjoyed the first one I think I'm going to pass over this one (until we can find a hot deal on it, of course ;) ).

I just realized that I was over a month late in updating the original post. I'll see what I can do for an update between now and this weekend.

According gamers.com the players choices Starfox Adventures, Pikmin, and Luigis Mansion are dropping to $19.99. Smash Brothers stays at $29.99 (Nintendo milking it for all it's worth.)

Metroid Prime, Mario Sunshine, and Animal Crossing added to players choices at $29.99.

Starting September 25th!

If you have an FYE store nearby (or any TransWorld Entertainment chain such as Coconuts, Strawberries, Saturday Matinee, Spec's, or Planet Music), try them. I understand some stores are giving them away.

There is about a 99% chance that this is the PC version.

YAY! I've been looking for Animal Crossing forever, and I've never seen it under $40. Even on Ebay it's going for $35 and up.

BTW, there's a post on here that links to a Walmart ad for 10/7 that shows the GC console for $99 (sorry, too lazy to link).

I got an email from Nintendo with this:
Princess Peach cordially requests the pleasure of your company at the first Peach's Invitational golf tournament, exclusively on Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour for the Nintendo GameCube.

Enjoy a relaxing round on the Princess's charming Castle Grounds Course. Launch majestic drives over the lovely fairways. Putt deftly on the fast greens. And, um, run like heck from the Chain Chomp hazards.

? First, start Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour on your Nintendo GameCube, holding the Z Button and pressing Start on the title screen.
? Choose Contests, then Password Tournament, and enter the following code: ELBUT3PX.
? Drive, chip and putt your way through Peach's Castle Grounds course!
? At the end of your round, write down the exclusive code the game gives you.
? Go to mario-golf.com. Enter your code in the Leaderboard.
? Be sure to check out how you did against the competition!

Nuts, now I really want to play this game. I may have to go buy it. I'm such a marketing slave...
