I saw several Metroid Prime's with $19.99 stickers at the Blockbuster in Bethesda, MD. They also had about 5 used copies for $15 each. It looks like a fairly permanent deal to me.

Purchased Metroid from Blockbuster (in Calif) over the weekend (5/3). Sticker price was like $35, but rang up at 19.99. Prev played was $15.. I had them check some other games too, but the sticker prices were correct.

For those that bought a console at Circuit City, is it my understanding that the "free" games WindWaker, M. Prime, etc. are only free after a $49.99 Mail In Rebate? Or will they deduct $50 at the register?


Also, is the Platinum colored cube hard to find at this point?
(From bestbuy or circuit city...or other stores that have a great
price protection policy)

No, you paid $149.99 plus tax at Circuit city. There's no MIR.
I got the hard to find Platinum colored cube, and if i'm not mistaken they still have few more left on the shelves, hiding behind the indigo and black cube boxes. YMMV.

Circuit City carries a good selection of the platinum cubes. As opposed to Walmart or Target which seem to mostly carry black and indigo.

Nintendo stopped producing Platinum Gamecubes for now (it was Limited Edition afterall). I think they should definately make it a permanent color though.

My Best Buy already ran out of Platiums and is not expecting any more shipments. If you want one of those I guess no better time then now.

Haven't seen anyone post this info yet and I've seen a lot of confusion regarding the availability of the Zelda OOT bonus disc.

BestBuy MIR offer for OOT bonus disc

This intermediate term promotion started 4/05/03, expires 12/27/03, and takes up to 8 weeks to ship. Don't know if this applies only to BestBuy.com online purchases, but it doesn't mention that the rebate is an online exclusive so I suppose you could buy the WW instore with the Gamer's gift card coupon for $5 off.

I checked the other common online shops and they did not appear to be running the promotion again at this time. Probably just a matter of time though.

I have a question on using the Gamer's gift coupon. I see a lot of people are using these but how are you doing it? I thought you had to buy a gift card first and then you could use the coupon in the back of the jewel case. Are you just taking the coupon out of the jewel case and taking it up to the counter?

Yes. Just buy the gift card, put 5 bucks on it or whatever. I usually go outside, open up the jewel case, and cut out the coupon.

Then just go back in and buy whatever, you can use both the coupon and the gift card at the same time.

I usually go to the register and tell the cashier that I have two transactions. I buy the gift card, then open the jewel case and tear out the coupon while the cashier is ringing up the game.

Under the terms section of that rebate it clearly says:
"Bestbuy.com rebates are valid with online purchases only."
So unless this form prints out automatically with the instore purchase, I think it is a no go.

I'm not sure what street it is on... it is the one down the street from Barnes and Noble, towards the new Giant, kinda across the street from Cameron's. The used MP I got didn't have a manually, BTW.

1. I'm not sure if the deal is still good, but Blockbuster was offering NEW Mario Sunshine for $29.99. I verified this myself at my local blockbuster a few weeks ago.

2. Check to see if the bottom of the disc looks good.

May 07, 2003 - IGNcube for weeks has brought readers news on a Nintendo announced GameCube preview disc, which would feature playable demos of such anticipated games as Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg and Viewtiful Joe. Nintendo previously announced that the disc would be included free with specially purchased GameCubes, and that it would be available sometime in May.
Various online retailer sites, though, are beginning to fill in more of the picture. It seems that the preview disc will ship on May 19 and -- gasp -- be available to purchase, too. The listing price is $9.99. This puts the demo disc right on par with similar preview discs from Sony and Microsoft for their respective consoles.

IGNcube will have more on the disc later this month. Stay tuned.

Thanks, the preview disc IMO is the hottest deal I see in the near future. I really want that disc ASAP.
