I woke up this morning and my computer looked turned off except the power light was still on. I turned it off and tried again... The fans spin up for a few seconds and I hear a high pitched "ptew" sound one time and it cuts off. Following that I smelled burning parts. I have taken the board apart and can't see or smell anything wrong. I took out the processor and the fans spin up and will run indefinately but no post. Will a Dragon + post without a processor? I get no beep or anything but the fans will run. When I put in the processor I get the same problem.
How do I tell if it's my processor or motherboard? It just randomly stopped working. All I can figure is that it overheated but I don't think it was THAT hot. Anyway I don't know how to tell if it's my processor or board!!!!?
The chip doesn't look fried or smell... Nothing on the board looks out of place so how do I tell?
If a processor goes does it usually take anything with it?
Thanks for your help! This sucks!

Sounds like the mobo problem I had. Check for swollen or leaking capacitors, particularly near the CPU or the PSU socket. RMA or electronics shop or careful soldering to replace them may fix it if not too bad. I sent my BE6-II 2.0 back to ABIT to solve a similar problem.
