Good. Glad to see freedom winning out.

Have to admit that getting people to refer to the concept as "net neutrality" rather than something more accurate like "Congress controlling the Internet" was a good PR move on their part.
 
you can never have net neutrality when a couple sites like youtube, netflix and that gaming site account for such a ridiculous percentage of net traffic. it just looks unfair businesswise that they arent paying for that
 
Get ready for the breakup of the internet into 'railroad monopolies' controlled by Comcast/NBC, Disney, etc.

You want to ride this rail? Have to pay baby. You want that service too on our rail? Cough it up son. You want to visit pirate bay? Sorry, no stops there.

What? You do know those sites do not PUSH content on their own, they send it to systems that request it. Those systems pay for access to the internet so they can request and get it.
Yet now you want to charge me for access then go to the sites I want and tell them if you want to get to the guy already paying you need to pay as well on top of what you already pay.

Same thing happened with food, it's very frustrating for those of us who have food allergies. We are extremely anti-label in the U.S and there are a ridiculous number of political ties to large food companies such as Monsanto:

Except individual bandwidth hogs are more or less subsidized by the current system. They do NOT pay their fair share. Which means Netflix is more or less subsidized because its users are more or less subsidized.

Honestly if people want net neutrality, they should accept metered usage(you pay for what you use).

Bandwidth as a commodity is a very slippery slope. Who would determine the prices when access is monopolized? Example: say we start out at $20 for 100GB and over a couple of years backbones are enhanced and it becomes half as expensive to provide the same bandwidth and/or the capacity doubles. Do you honestly think they would charge $10 for that same 100GB? Answer: no, they are going to pocket the difference. Just look at oil prices as a real-world example but the key difference is that oil is a tangible commodity. TCP/IP was designed for improving access not impeding it. The cable and phone companies who duopolize the market are the ones that are literally subsidized by taxpayer dollars.

Did you even read what I wrote or understand the internet?
My data usage is the same if I get 1 gig from 500 sites or 250gigs from 2 sites. I use the same amount in either case.

Netflix also pays for its data usage and I pay for my internet connection right now. Comcast/verzion/etc... want to add a extra toll now even though I and others already pay.

Well, now that Princeton published that study that basically confirmed America is an oligarchy, it's hard to argue this. The US is no different than China or Russia in that respect.

Loss of net neutrality only benefits the ISPs. It screws over everyone else. Big business who have to spend big bucks to get priority traffic. Small business that can't afford to pay the fees and get sidelined. Consumers who end up paying more for services while at the same time getting less content. American government selling its country's future piecemeal in a game that nobody's going to win.

Oh, and here's Brazil legally entrenching net neutrality and an online bill of rights the other day.

So is it even worth it to pay for a expensive internet speed if this is gonna get worse? Doesn't seem like it to me..
 
so... which country is the best in terms of... everything? I'm pretty tired of this whole 1-percenter thing too.
 
So with the ISPs flush with cash from their new toll roads, my prices should go down, my quality of service should increase dramatically, and everyone will be better off in the end because now big business is cutting into their profits to provide me the services I pay for access to? Right?! ANYONE?!?!!11
