big ABIT KT7-RAID problem, plz help!!!

Ok, I'm experiencing the same problem on two systems with different hardware, except for one thing they have in common: the abit KT7-RAID board.

the problem: Both systems run win98, and this happens randomly at boot time: they reboot after the wallpaper and hourglass shows up, OR they lockup with small dashed vertical green lines along the top of the screen. After 2 or 3 reboots, they load normally...

both systems use different AGP graphics cards, and I've installed the latest 4in1 drivers on each. The problem existed both before AND after i updated those drivers so ive narrowed it down that way...

Any ideas? plz help if you can!

Ok, answers:

1) on both systems, RAID is turned off in BIOS and no drives are connected to it.

2) each of these two systems use different AGP vid cards and sound cards. (one has an awe64 in pci slot 2 as recommended, and an AGP Geforce2 GTS 64mb from Absolute... the other has an AGP viper v550 and a SB live in slot 2)...

therefore, i dont think the sound or video is an issue since both systems experience the exact same problem with different hardware... i could be wrong, and if i am, what did you do to fix the problem??
