LOL, I didnt watch the anouncement, are they really called Division Woody and Division Bo, or is that a joke?
They don't have names yet, but they mentioned wanting to use some conference traditions to name them, old players or old coaches or something. I'll be surprised if it's not Woody and Bo.

This is why Nebraska and others wanted to leave the Big 12...catering to the big teams (Texas). Of course, it's not a big deal in the other ADs' eyes until money starts shifting, but it's a slippery slope...

I liked it when it was just the big 10. I guess its inevitable with lucrative TV that this thing was going to be expanded.

Being a fan of tradition and the Big10 I'm not sure what to think. THE GAME will still take place on the last week of the regular season Big10 schedule. 2006 was one of the greatest examples of how this game is supposed to play out, #1 vs #2. But even in the years previously when either Michigan or OSU were having mediocre seasons, THE GAME always meant so much because they each had a chance to ruin the others chances for a big ten title. I guess now it will be the opportunity to keep the other from the big ten championship game. Will playing THE GAME 2 weeks back to back cheapen the rivalry? Doubtful, not anymore than the slide in recent years of the UofM program. The conference obviously crafted the divisions around getting the OSU/UofM matchup for the big ten title for the $$ it would bring in.

It will be rather strange to watch them play at a neutral field though. This game is meant to be played in the cold, at michigan stadium or the horseshoe, not inside. Hopefully, they wont follow the NFL rules for opening the roof at lucas oil stadium. Having this game at Lambeau or Soldier's field could be interesting though.

How did this thread get this far without... The Big 10 sucks!

Hopefully whoever wins the big 10 championship just goes to the Rose Bowl so they can beat up on some crappy pac 10 team (especially after the neutering of USC), otherwise you'll continue to be embarrassed by a top flight big 12 or SEC team!

Why do you SEC chumps always stick up for the SEC as a whole?
Pick a team from the SEC. They have sucked sometime in the last 5 years.
OSU is good year in and year out, just not #1 nationwide.

Who is your team?

OSU is "good" year in and year out because they play in the Big 10 and don't have credible competition. If OSU has a meh year, they still get to play subpar teams. If UF has a meh year, then there will be an LSU or Alabama team there to replace them. SEC every year usually has 2 superior teams that could beat any big 10 team.

So why does the SEC have a losing record against the Big 10 in bowl games?
