Need has nothing to do with this discussion.

It's about infringement on natural rights.

If I can't bring my gun to Chick Fil A day, i don't want to live in this country anymore.

Oh, how did that election turn out for you guys, anyway? I know America was waking up, so i was just wondering what they chose when they did.

Yes. The only difference it has from other AR15's is that is does not have the following:

1. Flash suppressor (no problem, more accurate now)
2. Collapsible stock (sorta sucks but whatever)
3. picatinny rail (A HUGE amount of suck, but there are workarounds...)
4. bayonet lug (not bothering me)

And again, have you read what they are shooting for this go round? A hell of a lot more than that...hell, it's more than the gimped shit they pass off for an AR in Cali right now:rolleyes:

if it's anything more then that, then don't worry about it. it would never pass, and if it does, it will never be enforced.

If that's all you wanted I'm not sure why you wasted money on a castrated AR.

It was given to me for free ;) sort of inherited I guess

I will admit though I am wanting to purchase one that is NOT castrated....but it's hard to justify with what I have

Yeah, can't really argue with free.

Although I think for practical purposes ARs are overrated. If shit really hit the fan I'd probably want this: http://www.marlinfirearms.com/firearms/1894centerfire/1894.asp

with a scope mounted of course. Fewer moving parts = better long-term reliability, with all the range I need. And I doubt there are many ne'er do wells that wouldn't be spooked by a .44 magnum blast.

So just think happy thoughts and rely on the system? I wish it was that easy.

Yes, think happy thoughts, but also use common sense. The government will never send agents to seize your weapons. It would be irresponsible and dangerous.

They can order all they want, but make is a different story.

hell yes, alot of those older guns are bad ass. Accurate, rugged, etc. etc.

That right there is the problem, when Biden used the words "executive order" there is no such thing as "never pass"...and with the deadlock in congress it would be a "no way to repeal" until a change in administration or republican majorities in both houses.

While some may be going a little (OK, a LOT) overboard about this there is some cause for concern with what was said and the implications it could have

This is also true, there's no agency that would not have dissension in their ranks trying to enforce it even, still doesn't mean I want them to start banning things for the future though

Here's a thought. Do you think the FPSRussia's of today's gun enthusiasts have done more to increase gun awareness and support or the opposite? I could see how people watching those videos are like, "Ermahgerd, children are allowed to buy gold plated fully auto AK's by russians, America has too many guns!"

Yeah it all depends on the IQ of the one watching it...and their political persuasion;)

I think it's largely a generational thing. The previous generation grew up with cowboys and westerns, the current generation has grown up with BF3 and the like. My dad's this way. He's openly disturbed by modern "black" weapons (Glocks, AR-15s, etc), but show him a lever-action or 6-shooter and he warms right up.

So it will be with my generation, whom have been, at least virtually, desensitized to AR-15s/black weapons and look upon them as cool and fun, rather than icons of death.

I can't wait to hear the right-wing nutcase crying about bans on laser blasters, vaporizer rifles, and rail guns!

You can take my plasma rifle after you pry it from my cold, dead hands!

Legally speaking I could grab $500, go out and buy a rifle, scope and ammo that will accurately shoot out to 1000 yards if I do my part. Why shouldn't I be able to own a small-arms rail gun that does approximately the same? Or a laser blaster?

Hell can you imagine reenacting star wars with the lasers set to stun? That would be awesome! :D

Are you implying you can't own a laser blaster or rail gun? I think you can. They aren't specifically prohibited DDs.

I'm sure Feinstein won't care as long as they aren't olive drab Amirite?

Well as the technology for reasonable civilian versions doesn't exist yet I sincerely doubt there are any laws on the books. Still, I don't imagine the anti-gun lobby is going anywhere, and will oppose civilian adoption of such technologies when they become available. Hell they opposed allowing the importation of 5.7mm FN ammo on the grounds that its armor penetration capability was "too dangerous" and that it would "kill cops". Neither of which proved true, but that didn't stop them.

Havent heard much about the guy but IF he is Russian it could be a way to make gun owners look crazy and tear down the 2nd Amendment and make it easier for obama to ban guns or whatever other idiotic things the moron wants to do

I really want a rail gun...might just have to jump on them quick when they're first released:p There was a lot of hysteria over the 5.7 ammo and there's still some specific loadings that are prohibited for civilians. Hopefully they just ignore my new .22 TCM and whatever rounds they come up with for it since it's so similar:)

Meh, don't worry. Their latest pet project is banning .50 BMG because... it's a big round and it looks scary I guess.

Seriously .50 BMG is right there with bayonet lugs in that I'd like to find one reported instance of a crime committed with one.

I doubt it, most of the people that watch FPSRussia's videos are already aware of firearms and other weapons but probably will never get a chance in their lives to go do something like shoot a car in an M5 Stuart tank.

The people doing harm to gun awareness are like our dear friend numbnuts, below me here.

Posting idiotic garbage like that makes people who are respectful of firearms and the Second Amendment look like lunatics.
Who wants to try to have a rational conversation about firearms with a lunatic?
