Partly the Dems fault though, for not pounding home the message that Reps want to gut SS and Medicare. After the abortion decision, it seems clear that these are not simply empty threats, but the Reps *will* go after SS and Medicare if they get a majority in both houses.

While I think it's important to emphasize how dangerous their ideas are because if they win the presidency in future elections they might carry through with them but there's no danger in the next two years.

The dangers from Republicans gaining control of the House and Senate would be no more judicial appointments for Biden and a debt default crisis. As far as I can tell Democrats don't want to abolish the debt ceiling because that polls poorly but that is fucking stupid as its an existential threat to the world economy. Just abolish it in the lame duck session and move on.
