Biden admin increasing US NG production

Despite what right wing media and politicians say, the Biden administration continues to increase oil and gas production. The long term goal is still clearly greener and more sustainable, but four years of little progress on that front and Vlad f'ing things up has to be taken into account. It also doesn't get more "buy American" and pro trade capitalist than this.

"The U.S. said Friday it will work with international partners to provide at least 15 billion cubic meters more of liquified natural gas to Europe this year.

These additional volumes of LNG are expected to increase going forward, the White House said in a statement."

This will increase fracking...leading to more pollution problems in groundwater and the air in many places. Fracking (hydraulic fracturing) works well ..sometimes TOO well.

No doubt. This is war.
An economic one for us, for now. Hopefully it doesn't escalate beyond that.

It is by no means a perfect decision, and it has very significant costs, but it also means we can supply our allies with gas that would otherwise be bought from Russia

WOW ! We haven't been energy independent since Biden took office and shut down so much of our domestic energy production. What a huge win just to get the beautiful being from holding up production.

Almost all of this is wrong(You got the Biden took office part right). The amount of right wing propaganda is PERPLXING. Where did you get this? We were never energy independent. We were a net oil exporter in 2021 due to covid dropping our Oil usage. And Biden didn't shut down our energy production. Our oil production dipped in 2021 and has been increasing since then. In fact we were on pace to produce a record amount of oil in 2023. In fact part of the reason gas prices started increasing in 2021 is because of an agreement Trump negotiated with some oil producing countries to limit oil production.
I added a Fox News article for you:
Trump says increase in crude oil prices 'best of all worlds' for US

And here is monthly data on US oil production. Check out the trajectory before Trump took office and after.

Edit: This article though behind a paywall, flushes out the Fox News article above.

Ignoring the utter bullshit part...

So you agree that it is prudent to adopt an energy strategy that is less subject to geopolitical instability, then?
What kind of new idea would this be! To shift towards greener energy sources! What a deal that would be!

In the short term, US presidents have extremely limited influence on oil or gas production. 90% of federal public lands are already leased for oil and gas… which leads to 20% of US production. 80% of production comes from private lands. Arguing over what extra lands the US makes available in a given administration is arguing over the last 1% (or less).
Long term, enabling pipeline infrastructure certainly helps, and standardized regulations helps (even if standardized with strict environmental requirements, having certainty and one common set of requirements is far better for investment, vs randomly changing hodgepodge)

And as others noted, Biden has shut down exactly -0- US production.

Just a bit of research would have taken Taj a long way: read on about how US oil companies remain invested is in oil, versus other countries shifting towards alternative fuels, and why the US can't refine most of it's own oil so it sells it, and prefers to import from others. I think others above me have already shot your position to smithereens already though.

😂😂 You really need to reassess where you get your information from because you're being fed a meal of shit whatever it is.

As for sending Europe gas by boat. It's an energy intensive process and not really viable long-term, but for now it's necessary. Europe needs to move to electric heat asap.

Biden didn't shut down any of our energy production.

Why do you lie?
I work in the oil industry and he's shut down entire oil fields here in Alaska along with new drilling on Federal lands not to mention he's killed off two major pipelines. Try again.

Meanwhile ask @alien42 for a link. Seriously do you people even read the news?

So not allowing new drilling leases to be sold equates to shutting down entire producing oil fields? That’s what you’re claiming. All those links show is only that (no new leases), and Keystone XL canceled, which should have been no surprise. Failed to see all these Alaskan oil fields’ production halted.

How many people you know work in the oil patch up here? Pika oil field got shut down ... that would have employed up to 2000 hands this winter, ANWR got shut down which means all those drillers who were scheduled to drill there this winter (we only drill here in the winter months) are out of a job which means hundreds of hands and when that field goes into development it means thousands of jobs .. but thanks to Biden it won't be developed anytime soon.

You ever thought your EMPLOYERS were lying to you? Seriously.
