Biden’s address to the nation 10/19

ivwshane

Lifer
Anyone watching? Thoughts? I’ll post a link when I find one.

So far he is hitting the points that I wanted to hear; support for Ukraine, Israel, while acknowledging the plight of Palestinians. He’s addressing the rise in hate both at home and abroad. He is also mentioning and acknowledging the feelings, actions, and mistakes of 9/11. Overall, to me, this is definitely his best moment.

On msnbc mehdi hasan had a more “international” take and he raised some really good points and obviously wasn’t a fan of the speech. I’ll try to find a clip.

i think his sales pitch for american jobs coming from these two conflicts was a little out of place, but he certainly isn't wrong.

Some people are claiming we are giving Ukraine all this money which then disappears into certain pockets. The reality is that most if it pays for American goods made by American companies employing American workers.
Yup it’s funding the ‘MURICA war machine. So it’s lining greedy American pockets not corrupt Ukrainians.

Yeah, they really should emphasize that were not giving Ukraine/Israel all of this $$$ at all. It's almost entirely being given in terms of already paid for goods and the "cost" is just whatever value was attached to it at some point.

And in some cases, it's actually a win because it would cost extra $$$ to decom or dispose of it with the munitions/weapons system.

Something like "We're actually cutting future spending by giving them what would be obsolete systems for us that we no longer have to dispose of."

Don't agree on "because he is Palestinian", "radicalized by right wing media"?

That dude is crazy as a bedbug and as stated did kill because the kid was a Palestinian. He was radicalized because he was crazy as fudge. To say it was due to right wing media is his wife's opinion. Regardless of why he thought he should kill this innocent kid he deserves to get the death penalty, IMO.

I guess the woman that lives with him would have the least amount of evidence.

Makes a lot of sense.

I’m curious, do you think it’s a possibility he was radicalized by right wing media? What percentage would you put that at?

Sure it's possible...

It's also possible he did this just because of the slaughter of innocent men, women and children in Israel by Hamas terrorist. Really he was already crazy as hell.

As for percentage, nobody can make an accurate figure. Pure guess work.
