Bidding in the last 2 seconds FTW

I love doing this also, but manually.

Here come all the arguments saying that putting in a max bid works the same way...

Bidding at the last second locks out all those n00bs who run up the price by making a long string of bids in +$5-$10 increments.

Well, technically it does. Can't really argue that point. 😉

Ha ha. Oh yeah. Hate those n00bs!

Ah, but you can, see Special K's reply above yours.

theres several auction sites that have snipe protection, it adds like 25min to the auction every time you bid.

Wish ebay would do this, its freaking annoying

Ebay his snipe protection.

If you bid what you are willing to pay, you can't be sniped. If you choose to bid less than what you are willing to pay, it is your own fault.

Thank you for stating the bleeding obvious. If you're really interested in an item, better to follow the bidding process till the last second and make an effort rather than complaining about it.

I do but then people sit and inch ir up little by little to find your max bid and then go just over at the last second, its retarded.

The last auction I won:
1. Bid on Monday.
2. Came home on Sat. to Auction won notification.
3. Laughed at the snipers who were bidding while I was skiing.

actually you are wrong, even if i set my max bid to a massive ammnt its possiable to snipe at the last second and get in before the abutbid tick reups my bid

Really? So if you bid $20, and the bid is sitting at $16, someone can bid $16.05 1 second before the auction ends and win the item, even though you bid higher?

I don't think so...whenever I've bid on something that someone else already had a higher bid on, it automatically upped the bid and let me know I wasn't winning.

What are you talking about? The only way someone can snipe at the last second is if the bid they put in at the last second is higher than your "massive" bid.

Or you get a scamming seller who has one of his buddies place a stupidly high bid to see what your max is...and then cancels the bid for some obviously bullshit reason. "Bidder entered wrong bid amount" my ass. Then all of a sudden another bid shows up before the auction is over that is 'coincidentally' just under your maximum...

sniping ftw.
