Bidding at the last second locks out all those n00bs who run up the price by making a long string of bids in +$5-$10 increments.

Thank you for stating the bleeding obvious. If you're really interested in an item, better to follow the bidding process till the last second and make an effort rather than complaining about it.

Really? So if you bid $20, and the bid is sitting at $16, someone can bid $16.05 1 second before the auction ends and win the item, even though you bid higher?

I don't think so...whenever I've bid on something that someone else already had a higher bid on, it automatically upped the bid and let me know I wasn't winning.

What are you talking about? The only way someone can snipe at the last second is if the bid they put in at the last second is higher than your "massive" bid.

Or you get a scamming seller who has one of his buddies place a stupidly high bid to see what your max is...and then cancels the bid for some obviously bullshit reason. "Bidder entered wrong bid amount" my ass. :roll: Then all of a sudden another bid shows up before the auction is over that is 'coincidentally' just under your maximum...
