Yup. Got in a few rides over the long weekend. It rides beautifully. Nice and smooth over the pavement (mostly thanks to the carbon fork, I'm guessing) but plenty stiff when climbing out of the saddle or sprinting. It's also noticeably lighter than my Merckx is, which is nice when going up hill. Has a nice "snappy" feel overall.....me likey. 😀

It's the magnet for the cyclo-computer sensor. I just haven't gotten around to putting the computer on yet.

the computer isn't a desktop is it? i would think that would dramatically increase the overall weight of the bike, not to mention the drag coefficient. i would recommend at most a laptop.

I didn't really read much of the other thread on it, but I know that Steelman is a pretty small shop right? Any idea how many frames they make a year?
 
Nice. Love the trick spoke pattern. I've been away from the road bike market for about 10 years now. Where are they putting shift levers these days? Could they be the paddle-type attachments behind the brake levers?
 
I gotta say ... as a touring cyclist ... and one that hasn't followed new bikes for awhile ... your spoke count & geometry makes me a bit nervous!

About two grand total for the whole shebang. I haven't purchased a new road bike in several years and I'm a fairly serious rider, so I went whole-hog. 😀

It may sound like a lot, but it's really not when you consider the fact that it's a handmade frame with top-of-the-line italian components on it. A Litespeed or other Ti bike with the same components would run you about $5,000 at your local bike shop. I just happen to prefer steel.

I actually have no idea, but I'm guessing not many. It's pretty much just Brent (Steelman), a couple other frame prep guys, and his wife handles the orders and other business stuffs. Well under 1,000 frames per year I'd say.



 
Oh yeah ... the title... I was expecting a bare frame laid out on satin sheets or something ... dude, I wanna see some bottom bracket & bare derailer hangers here!

I really like the carbon brake/shifter levers!

It will make my old Gordon look...... OLD.

I'm gonna post pic's of it hopefully in the next week or so.

Well....it's a road racing frame, so the geometry is pretty standard. The wheels are actually quite stiff despite the relatively low spoke count. I have about 2,000 miles or so on them at this point (had them on my previous bike before moving them to the new one) and haven't had to even break out the spoke wrench or anything. They seem bombproof thus far.

Yup. Those are indeed the shifters. Not having to take your hands off the bars to shift is the best thing since sliced bread.

I wouldn't mind having a roadie bike like that, but I refuse to shave my legs. 😛

I'll stick to dirt. 😀
