When Amazon is taking weeks for anything declared non essential that sounds pretty reasonable to me.

Particularly when it likely is coming from their NYC store.

Viper GTS

They have been incredibly slow to ship since COVID.

Normally they get 5-stars from me for impeccable service and fast ship times.

Always had a good experience with B&H onlne ordering. Usually ships within a day. I ordered the Senn Momentum True Wireless 2 IEM's with them the other week and they shipped the next day as usual.

I've bought from B&H a few times in the past 15 or so years. Never a problem. Shipping times may be a bit slow...but that's on everyone involved, not just B&H.

First time I used BH it was to buy a projector mount. I explicitly requested they hold the order for 3-5 days because I would be out of state and didn't want the delivery to sit on my front stoop and possibly get stolen. They sent it immediately, I was out of state, and when I got back nothing was there--it got stolen. But I didn't know this initially because I thought they held the order as requested. Since nothing was reached by me they reshipped. I got that one. Then another week passes and UPS driver is at my door looking to collect the first one. "What first one?" It was stolen.

Second and Last time I ordered a couple of CF flash card for my Canon 5D Mk3. They conveniently changed the shipping address on my account (in their system) from H (as in Hill) to M (as in Mill) and a den of criminals got my shipment. They refused to reship on their mistake. Personally, I think this was a vendetta on the projector mount incident. I went to that den of criminals and luckily got the product although they tore open the shipping package and the product package. BTW, the other address is 1/3 miles from me in another subdivision.

I do not care to do business with them ever again.

Never had a problem with them before. They have always shipped everything quickly when I have placed an order.

They might be a little slower because of the restrictions right now, but they should still be faster than Amazon for many items. I placed an order at Amazon a week ago for an in stock / Prime Delivery item, and the estimated delivery date is like May 17th. It's still sitting at whatever warehouse it will eventually ship out of.

Amazon is just messed up at this point. Between being overwhelmed by demand, warehouses getting temp closed because of infection, etc., I am seeing non-essential deliveries quickly and pseudo-essential deliveries almost non-existent.

I use B&H religiously. They do have some odd service hours due to their actual religious beliefs, but they've been excellent for me over the last decade or two.

But (1) it's COVID season, and (2) they're right in the heart of the biggest disaster area in the nation (NYC), so yeah...I'd cut them some slack. Keep in mind 15,000 people have died there in the past month...

Not gonna lie, I'm frustrated that my Amazon orders don't just magically show up on my doorstep the next day. I've been dangerously addicted to their quick & largely reliable delivery system. I know the world has gone to pot, but I need my orders NOW, dangit! Such a #FirstWorldProblem hahahaha. It's funny how goofed-up our perception can get in light of the global situation, you know? I feel a combination of feeling bad for everyone experiencing this virus & having to deal with it & the supply chain issues, coupled with annoyance that my stuff hasn't shown up yet, which is valid but a relatively minor problem in the scheme of things lol.

I am okay with my orders being delayed, especially for the reason you stated above...

I have ordered about 16 items in the past 4 weeks and 1/2 of them were here in 2 days...the others took about a week or so...the only exception which is weird is a used Sony A9 camera from the Amazon warehouse I ordered on April 12 and it already stated delivery by May 4 when I ordered it (which is kinda weird) so I am still waiting on that guy...

Before the lockdown I would see numerous Prime delivery vans out and about every single day. Now I see them very sparingly. To me, that would imply a downturn on deliveries. If they were refocused on essentials only and getting slammed then why so view seen now?

Are you suggesting that the bulk of those Prime delivery vehicles were delivering goods from Amazon partners and not Amazon themselves?

Not at all, but from what I've read, their delivery service was losing money by the truck full...and with the suspension of their prime pantry delivery service, I suspect the rest of it was just costing them too much.

Same observation here anecdotally.

B&H has always been reliable for me. With Covid though EBAY seems to be the quickest market for anything I need. There is no rhyme or reason to Amazon right now.

I worked as a contract delivery person.
They ( and I ) were overloaded in Nov when I quit.
My facility was hardly germ safe.
( so fast paced ... in a hand sorted process )
Reorganizing the process now I imagine.
And paying a price for growing to big too fast.
( IMO .. of coarse )
My guess that 3/5 ( possibly 2/3 ) of my deliveries ( for AMZN ) were not AMZN in origin.
