BH-5 Voltage

Setup:

DFI Lan Party NF2 Ultra B
Mobile 2400+ Barton @ 2.5g
Buffalo PC3700 BH-5 @ 245 11-2-2-2 @ 3.3vdimm

i ran memtest @ 250fsb, it got to test #5 and had 350 errors, then it finished the pass without anymore... my question is, should I try going any higher? i wanna run 250x10, i know it's only 5 more, but it's a big deal to me... heh...

i've spent too much money already on this rig to achieve this goal, when I should've just switched to A64... whatcha guys think?
 
BH-5 can handle 3.6v's without any worries. I think even OCZ Memory that have BH-5 chips give a lifetime waraanty on them even if given 3.5V+/- 10%
 
I'm such an idiot for selling my BH-5. I've tried CH-5, hynix, TCCD, Micron C and G since then.. nothing compared to BH-5. And I never put more than 2.9 though it. after all this time BH-5 is still best...

I agree. I had some bad luck with some Buffalo BH-5's a couple of years ago, but after trying many different kind of memory, I finally got my hands on some Mushkin PC3500 Lvl2's...and this stuff is AMAZING! My system doesn't seem to want to overclock exactly the way I want it to, but I now know that the memory is not holding me back. This stuff passes memtest for 12+ hours running 2-2-2-5 1T at 250mhz (DDR500) with only 3.1v!!! :Q

You seriously liked your BH-5 more than TCCD? Why?

TCCD can get much higher numbers (with looser timings) but with the new AMD/Intel setups this shouldn't affect real world performance at all.
 
3.6 is fine.

i also hear that the twinmos speed premium is untested ch-5/bh-5 capable of 250 mhz at 2-2-2-5 with 3.4 to 3.5 volts.

they run 37.99 a stick for a 256 meg stick

Because LL beats high bandwidth. Course both together helps like BH-5 can give.. 250+ @ 2-2-2 will beat any TCCD config.

I did'nt even know what I had at the time and all about voltages it could handle.. I ran it's cas 3 rating buffalo PC3200 at 2.9V 2-2-2 about 210Mhz and thought I was doing very well at that rate... found out shotly after sold they could handle much more volts, much more speed..🙁

Keep in mind I only paid $34 a 256x2 stick at newegg about 2 year ago.. Needed 1GB so I sold it
 
BH-5 chips are rated for 3.6v.

TCCD can't get all that much higher than bh-5... mine can do 262 mhz with enough voltage, and keep the 2-2-2 timings. I'm also pretty sure that if the timings were loosened, the memory would scale even higher. Most TCCD, from what I've seen/read, tops out around 275~280 on average, with 2.5-3-3 timings.. and around 210~215 with 2-2-2 timings. I'd take 250 mhz with good timings over 275 mhz with terrible timings, myself.

Seriously, this stuff rocks especially with the OCZ DDR Booster. Just make sure anything over 3.0 vdimm, you use active cooling over your ram for 24/7 use.
