Hi all,

Got a question,

is it true that when the network uses BGP, you are unable to do a traceroute from one system to another one but you can do a traceroute from the router to the system ?

Because currently, i have a connection problem and user shows me the traceroute from their system to the dest system . And the result shows missing hop.

Any comments will be appreciated.
 
I'm guessing the reason there appears to be a missing hop is because you have multiple interfaces on a router/switch and traceroute would only show one of those interfaces, or whatever interface the workstation is connected to.
