BGA ramsinks

So I have a VF700 on a 9800 pro and I wanted to switch it to my x800xt. I also wanted to swap the ramsinks when I did this, since the XT's RAM could probably use the extra cooling.

Does anyone know of any problems with pulling off the sinks, cleaning off the thermal pads, and sticking them on with epoxy? I'm also going to sell the x800XT, probably in 6 months, and probably with the stock cooler on it, which would mean I have to remove the sinks again without damaging the RAM.... Has anyone done this before?

Use a hair dryer, heat up the ramsinks, then very carefully twist to loosen the tape. Don't go nuts on it, I've heard of people tearing those BGA RAM chips right off the card by torquing them too much.

Put them on the X800 using fresh tape, like this stuff. They will never, ever come off the RAM chips if you use epoxy.
