Hmmm

Some amazing looking screen shots in that thread, I sincerely hope this mod shapes up well.

Purgatorio, the Planescape mod, probably the most anticipated module for NWN2 is 'supposed' to be released shortly after the 1.22 patch, which is due this week or early next week, so so claim the devs here.

There's also an IWD remake being developed, which currently included everything up to Kuldahar.

Is this a remake of BG in NWN2? I know there was also a beta port of BG2 into IWD2's engine (AD&D3 rules included)... seems pretty interesting, though I spent such a long time learning ed.2 rules that I don't really want to go on... good ol' original BG2 for me for now.

Absolutely. I'd buy NWN2 in a heartbeat if I could replay the BG Series and Planescape: Torment with the engine.

Also dying for a mod for Fallout 3 that redoes the first two Fallouts.

I'll believe it when I see it. It's still vaporeware in my book, the mods been in production forever, and some of those screenshots are ancient and I remember seeing them before even the first expansion was released.

It looks like the modders didn't really have much to work with, NWN2 came out the box with very poor textures which didn't help since the engine sucked the big one too. For example, typically with JRPGs on a mature platform, given the limitations of the engine, the push hard on texture quality...well not here. The game looks like ass on every level.

Although the good thing is BG was mostly just repetitive forest areas. BG2 would be a disaster on the NWN2, the image quality would just not be reproducible.

It's a couple of years late and their project forums were a decayed wasteland of gold-farmer spam the last time I checked, so I've given up hope.

Just like the KOTOR 2 restoration, I won't believe it until it's ready to download. If then :)

Thats funny, cuz what I really want is the NWN 2 campaign converted to the BG2 Engine. 2nd or 3rd Edition rules are fine for me. Its the interface that really made the game.

The devs addressed that in the thread.

Still, Purgatorio is one of the most ambitious mods to date. Its nearly as anticipated as the BG remake, but its an original title. Just so we're clear, Purgatorio does not follow the story line or characters from Torment. They are independent games based in the same setting, same as how Icewind Dale and Baldur's Gate were both based in the Forgotten Realms.

Awesome if this ever comes out. I recently tried replaying BG2 with the hi res mod but I could not get into it. The interface is horrible by today's standards and I had to choose between everything being really tiny or everything being really pixilated. Redoing the entire game in 3D is a huge undertaking though. If this is just some people doing it in their spare time than we might have to wait a while longer.

Baulder's Gate Tutu! Play BG1 in the BG2 engine. This thing kicks some serious butt.

Baulder's Gate Tutu

But yeah, I'll check out this mod when it comes out. I still need to finish NWN2 expansion...

Baulder's Gate Tutu

One also needs to get BG1 NPC project to make the NPCs in BG1 behave like BG2 NPCs (mainly dialog).

That being said, I will believe the remake when it is finished. Too many of these have gotten my hopes up only to be dashed when the developers give up.

Ahh... Well, that kinda sucks... But hey, I'll take what I can get. ;)

I think the first 2 were much better than the third :) I would have preferred Fallout 3 in 2D like the originals.

Nothing better than watching a guy's arm/shoulder/ribs get blown completely off by a shotgun blast close range :) or the hilarious combat text after punching a man in the groin.

Was very sad to see Fallout 3 did not have any of that =\ I felt that was half of what made the game so unique. The hilarious vulgar combat dialogue.

Did not have any of that? Are you sure?
Did you ever make an aimed shot in VATS?
