Wow, and it only took....two months??? This will probably be the last patch for this abandoned game. Hopefully it fixes most of the issues.

-Sort by Ping fixed in Server Browser.
-Scrollbar fixed in Server Browser.
-Player number now displays properly if more than 10000 players.
-Soldier prediction fixed to remove jerky movements when walking/jumping.
-M60 removed from the LAW kit and replaced with M14.
-M60 and RPD min/max bullet deviation increased when standing/moving.
-M60 and RPD max bullet deviation decreased slightly when prone.
-Rate of fire and velocity of M60/RPD adjusted.
-Player movement speeds on Heavy Assault kits reduced slightly.
-Network overhead of vehicle engines and airlifting significantly reduced.
-Added minimap warning icon when enemies are within capture radius of an
opposing team flag.
-The Dedicated Server option in the Multiplayer -> Create Game menu has been
removed to fix potential issues with Punkbuster. Non dedicated Internet servers
started from this menu will no longer use Punkbuster. As a result of these
changes, Punkbuster can only be enabled when using the Standalone Dedicated Server.
The required exe's have been included in the client 1.01 patch.

it does seem smoother on my ATI card
but granted im not using any AA or AF

i had fun playing it tonight though.
the M60 is basically not used at all.

the game did seem a bit more balanced, im still bitter we were beta testers essentially.
i mean how can a game get shipped where sort by ping doesnt even work?

oh well, its fixed now.
i just hope more patches are on the way in a timely manner.

Just for the record, the ATI "issue" is an ATI driver problem, not a problem with BF: Vietnam.

Schadenfroh, now an official member of the ATI marketing team..... j/k

This is how my pretend conversation with ATI marketing would go:

Me: "Wow, I notice you still have not got your AA/AF working right"

ATI: "Oh no, it works fine, just set your drivers to "application preference"

Me: "Umm, ok, but I want to use AA/AF in my games"

ATI: "There are no problems with ATI drivers, it must be user error"

Me: "But I just want AA/AF to work on Battlefield: Vietnam"

ATI: "Right, another clear example of user error" (Runs out the door)

Where did you see official info on a 1.1? When will that be? 10 years from now probably. Oh I see it now. That sounds more like a 15 year project for EA.

Wrong.
It is specific to BFV and considering how many other things are fvcked up in that game and the fact that it was either not tested at all, or tested by a bunch of fvcking monkeys, I'm not surprised.

It should be quite obvious to anyone who played BF 1942, that DICE has made a name for themselves by writing crappy buggy code and taking forever to fix the simplest issues. Anyone remember the 1942 patch that seriously made the game unplayable for a large portion of the players due to horrible sound issues?

It took 1942 almost a year before it was really a polished game.

The difference is that 1942 brought something new to the table. No game before could compare to how much fun it was so people were willing to live with the bugs. With BFV, the concept isn't new. It's just a change in venue. And those of us who were 1942 addicts expected something that was at least at the same level of quality if not better. Instead we got something far more buggy with no real improvements to the engine.

Finally I am able to play Battlefield 1942 and Vietnam with latest Catalyst 4.5 I am not sure why it does not work with 4.3 and 4.4?

I am impressive with those games.
