BFG wants to send me a card - inferior to mine

So i bought s 8800gts512 in like february and moved a few months later, bfg was unable to send anything to my new adress for some reason and my rebate got lost...

after complaining for the third time they sent me an email :
"Dear XXXXXXX

The BFG Technologies- Canadian Quote Rebate Center recently received your submission for the following promotion:
Department: 106362 - BFG GEFORCE 8500 GT 256MB PCI-..."

why would i want a 8500 GT when what i have 8800gts512 is much better ???????

This thread has missed its chance to die with dignity, but that's not going to stop me from putting it down.

I don't understand. Where does it say that they're sending you a card? The e-mail is about a rebate.

Let me see if I've got this straight:
- You bought a card from the BFG store
- You received the card (right?)
- You moved to a new address before receiving the rebate for your card
- You contacted them about straightening out the rebate
- You received a confirmation about a rebate (but one for a different card)

Uh, without seeing the rest of the message - it looks to me like they're processing a rebate FOR a 8500GT, not SENDING you an 8500GT.

And I had the impression that your 8800 GTS went bad and they were trying to give you an 8500 GT instead of it.... 🙂

I think they are trying to send him a 8500 GT for the rebate that got lost because he moved. Correct?

An 8500GT sells for $50, how much was the rebate for?

This is what I'm gathering from it. Sounds like a pretty reasonable deal.

it is bad, and no my card is running perfectly, i did not call for a replacement, nevermind, forget i posted this

lol

Well, the first post was not very clear to me. It's like you're saying you RMA'd the card then it seems you got a rebate for a cheaper. IDK what is going on...

I don't think the OP RMA'd the card, because he says that it still is in working condition... I'm not sure, reading all of this makes my head spin.

guys learn to read the original post,
bfg lost my rebate, i moved and never got it, i complained they sent it again, i never got it, this happened 3 times and recently i complained again and a week later got this email, i was told the rebate would be finally sent to my new address - i have no idea what this business with the 8500 gt is cause i never rma'd any card, my 8800 gts 512 runs awesome ... rebate is for $30 dollars not sure of canadian or american...

why is this so hard to understand, ? nevermind

this is kinda funny, anyways, my advice: take whatever they send you, as long as you dont have to send anything back. rebate would be nice, though an 8500 for free is better than nothing.

Your title: "BFG wants to send me a card - inferior to mine"

The title suggests BFG is trying to send you a replacment card. Then we read the Op and you are complaining that the rebait they are sending you is refrenceing an 8500 rather then then the 8800 you have. So your upset about it even though you are finally getting the rebate. As long as the amount they are sending you is the same it shouldn't matter what card they are refrencing in the email.

Your rebate didn't get lost, it was returned because you weren't there. Rebates usually have this little imprint on the outside that reads 'Do not forward'.

""why is this so hard to understand, ? nevermind ""

Because your title... makes me want to bite a chipmunk. You talking aboit 8800's and 8500's. But once again, your TITLE indicated you wanted to talk about the CARD, not the REBATE. No mention of a rebate anywhere in your title or header. All of this in the VIDEO CARD forum.

It is very confusing.

omg, you guys can figure out hardware and all that but cant figure out my post ?

well i cant put everything in the title and make it too long can i ?

Read the quote from BFG.

It's a REBATE FOR 8500GT, they made a mistake when he sent in for 8800GT.
He is receiving a $ rebate not the card.

Is "card" the new term in Canada for "rebate check"?

You apparently can't even figure out your own post:

"BFG wants to send me a card..."

"why would i want a 8500 GT..."

8500GT must be yet another new term used in Canada to mean "check". Interesting vernacular you Canucks have.
