BFG Tech Support

I've heard the rants and raves about how great BFG tech support is, well just FYI, this isnt the case, they suck. The guy I spoke with last night was rude an unhelpful. Told em my brand new just out of the box 7900gtx 512 was garbled at post so he tells me to call newegg. Asked if they would cross ship and he says no. Asked if they were paying shipping, nope again.

Guess this will be my last BFG card, I can see if this was a $99 budget card but I've been buying top of the line BFG for a while now, the least they can do is cross ship a $500 card so Im not without my gaming for over a week.

Im a sad panda

Almost no companies pay for shpping on returns.
Many companies will not cross ship/advanced RMA, and some may only do so with a CC#.
I can guarantee you going through Newegg would be faster than BFG.

Youre supposed to deal with the vendor for the first 30 days. Dont blame BFG for this, blame your ignorance.

Dont come here and start flaming. I bought a $500 card, the least the guy could do is be nice about it. Its not like I called and demanded an upgrade to a 7950GX2 or anything.

They were helpful when I emailed them awhile back about an issue. I spoke with Scott I believe. They offered me advanced RMA in case I needed it😕

Did you try speaking wihth another CS rep?

Quote from the email they sent me...

Basically, we CAN replace your card for you, and we do offer advance replacement service to residents of the US (we simply cna't issue call tags outside of the US).

No, it was almost 10PM when I called and had waited about 45 minutes on hold before getting someone. I asked about advance RMA/ Cross Ship and he said "we dont do that"

WTF, I had to RMA stuff back to Newegg 3 times in the past, and was NEVER offered the option of advanced shipping, even after escalating it one time because I needed a part right away. I ended up buying inferior RAM at retail prices because I couldn't get an advance + I lost shipping costs.

Unless the advanced shipping thing is from BFG themselves, which makes this reply dumb... 🙂

Sounds like you got a bad CSR. I'm sorry.

But I've dealt with BFG before and had no problem. I didn't ask about advance RMA as I didn't need it. Overall, BFG is very good and aside from eVGA Signature Series, probably the best in the video card industry.

this is why i went the evga route 😛

I went with BFG because in the past they have been great, a 6800 Ultra, 7800GTX with no issues and a few friends with the same, seems this time i got a turd and they arent too concerned. I know it sounds petty but I am a huge gamer, thats why I buy the high end stuff, it seems the least they could do is give me an advance replacement so I'm not without a card for over a week.

He's not flaming.. he's right. You just opened the object from an online retailer. they are responsible for the product to be safe from defect for a certain amount of time. You deal with them before you deal with a manufacturer.

As to their support, I had a 6800GT blow up on me for some reason (cap go boom!) after six months of use. Went through their tech support and had them cross ship a brand new card express to me to replace the one that died. Cost for a new card... zero. Cross shipping did cost me an extra $15 bucks, but it got me the card a week sooner than otherwise. When they say they give a lifelong gurarantee, they mean it.

Sorry to hear yours was bad from the start, but take it up with who you bought it from first.
