BFG Nvidia 6600GT 128MB DDR3 PCI-E $29.99 AR

Does anybody know if I'll be able to SLI it with the Leadtek 6600 GT I already have? My mobo supports SLI, but will having two cards from different manufacturers be a problem? Or will the fact that the BFG is "OC" while the Leadtek is not cause a problem?

Hmm...I think I managed to answer my own question. According to NVidia's web site, the latest drivers allow mixing and matching of cards from different vendors with different clocks, as long as they have the same GPU. So it sounds like I should be ok.

The card just arrived 20 minutes ago. I'll install it tonight, and if I can get SLI working, I'll mail out the rebate materials tomorrow. I'm not planning on using the no-waiting option.

I don't like TD, but I'll try them b/c its so cheap. If I get screwed, I knew I should have never thought about it at all...

I'm switching to Plan B. Apparently, my 380W Antec power supply isn't enough to power two 6600GT's. It's close, but the system is unstable and crashes after 5 min of gaming. Also, it dies during boot if it tries to boot directly into SLI mode--I had to enable SLI by hand after boot to get it to boot up at all, and it only worked with one assignment of cards to slots, not with the other. Oh well.

I've RMA'ed the card, and I'll let you know whether I get my money refunded.

I got my two July 2006 Athlon 64 Tigerdirect Onrebate $50 rebates paid on March 3rd 2007. The rebates were submitted and approved for payment in July 2006.

It took many emails and promises to contact the BBB, corporate officers, and attorney generals to get paid. Some others on AT got paid in a timely manner. I'm done with any of their rebate deals.
