Current spec...

Gigabyte PS3-DS3R
Intel Q9450
Antec Quatto 850W
Antec P900 case
2x2gb Corsair Domanitor Ram

Okay...
I recently bought a BFG 9800 GX2 for an Asus Striker Extreme 2 mobo. When it was initially switched on, on the rear there are 2 leds - one green and one blue (on the same port as the HDMI). When i first turned on the card both lights illuminated and i had a picture. But now, theres only one green light (on the non HDMI port) - and i can't get any picture at all.

When connected - it "fires my crt" as if its about to turn on, but no picture appears

Does anyone know whats going on? I've RMA'd the mobo and gone for a Gigabyte P35-DS3R as i don't want SLi, i'm not overclocking. - just want some stabilty. I've checked the video card in this board and the same thing occurs - one green light - no picture.

Does anyone know whats going on?

I'm guessing i've somehow fried the graphics card on the massively hot northbridge of my Striker 2 - but something is defo. amiss and i hear the XFX cards have something similar occur as they too have one blue and one green light when they're working.

PS
i've tried reseating the card, using the supplied BFG 8 pin (even though mine fits), my PSU has been tested on the videocard by Nvida and listed on the list of working PSU's.

I've tried another video card in the Gigabyte board and that is working okay so no worries there. Just need to work out whats happened to the 9800.

Yep, bought a XFX worked great for 2 days then nothing.
Green led's showed the card was getting power, but no blue led for video.
Fan ran @ 100%
Just died.

Ah, so the blue LED is for video?
I didn't know that. I'd read it was about running them in Sli and it highlighting the right card to input your monitor.

I've RMA'ed the card now, but i was getting worried the card wouldn't work on a P35 board.

Seems bizarre they're overheating so fast although if your putting them on a striker 2 Mobo i can see why as they sit right over the passive heatsink on the Northbridge.
