Not sure if this is a local only deal or not.

Saw at my local store yesterday with 4-5 in stock 92553 area code. Moreno Valley E location.

Look'd like a good deal but sucks too much juice for my HTPC.

I just check'd my other best buy they don't carry it.

I did pick up a Visiontek HD4850 512mb ddr3 on clearance for 100.49 🙂

Best Buy clearance is a YMMV and it's best to check multiple stores if available.

Seems like it is clearance tme at Best Buy and looks like Walmart is getting rid of alot of stuff also.

I picked up a WD 500gb Green Sata drive for 55.00 at one of my local Walmarts yesterday to use as video storage for my HTPC

I've been checking, but so far, no luck. GTX260 are about 200, the GTS 250. I am really looking to find the GTS 250 as it requires less power, but seems to be very close in terms of performance. At any rate, it should be a significant upgrade to my 3870.

My only problem is looking at some of the benchmarks, and in some games, the 4870 tanks hard compared to the other two. Essentially 10 FPS, vs 30 and 40 on the 250 and 260. I may end up going that route if the price is right, and I have seen those for $150 when on the egg they're $199, just can't seem to justify the added heat/power which may force me to spend more money on the rest of my system.

you're right in that it uses less power, but it's not exactly what i'd call close in terms of performance.

Perhaps I'm missing something, but...

Seems like on all tests, it is about 5-10% slower.

because 70% of games dont demand much.

few games that do show difference way over 10% you are talking about.
