My local bb stores haven't had any gt's since they first arrived. I noticed at the online store that they've got the old gts cards on sale. Suppose they're trying to clear stock before offering the new card.

I just got back from picking one up at best buy and they had a whole shelf full (probably 5-6 left). $224.xx after tax.

Cool...Best Buy seems like the best place to get an 8800GT if it's in stock at your local store...kinda sad that it's come to this for the 8800GT fiasco. :(

Nope, old style fan here.

Just snagged one from Dublin, Ca store. They have 2 left on the shelf despite the website saying oos. They didn't even have the price tags set up for them yet.

Haven't been to Bestbuy for a while, but they've left a really good impression after my visit this morning. Was greeted nicely at the door and not immediately hounded by someone asking if I needed help. When I did ask someone to check if the card was in stock, he quickly relayed that they're expecting a shipment of 5 Friday night and to have it on the shelf Saturday morning. Now that's some precious information that I can never get at a place like CompUSA.

Can you get 2 using 2 coupons at the same time or do you have to come back at another time to use the coupon again?

lavaheadache said he got 2, i suppose you could just walk right back in and use the 2nd coupon

also, I would like to know what kind of overclocks you guys are getting on this card, since i own the exact same brand & model, that information would be useful.

I had no problems using 2 coupons at the same time, the sales clerk said that I could only use one at a time so he just did 2 seperate transactions, I was shocked at how helpful he was. About the fans, I'm pretty sure they are the smaller ones still. I'll post a pic in a few minutes so you guys can tell me if they are the smaller ones. Good luck to anybody who is in need, I hope you all get in on this deal. I was holding out for my 2 MSI 8800 GT's to ship from Dell but I got the delay email yesterday. Then out of the blue this deal pops up. All in all I got the cards for $5 bucks more each and a lifetime warranty, Not too shabby I'd say

edit... they appear to be the A2 revision with the larger fan

My children

the sad thing is that I have more> I left out my tnt2 and ti4200.

I'll be interested in what version I will get. I grabbed one at bestbuy.com on 12/11. It shipped today and will arrive on Monday.

the new fans on the hs have 14 blades at a more acute angle, the older fan has 12 smaller blades more obtusely angled from the center.

edit: make that 15 & 13. i can't count lol

GPU-Z states my 8800GT is Revision "A2" when I have an EVGA 8800GT bought pretty much at launch day. I guess that pretty much throws the theory of "A2" revision 8800GTs having the larger fan.

I just found an 8800gt at a Best Buy a little farther from my house :). I can't believe the price, $201 without tax. It's insane to think that I was about to spend $300+ on one just this morning. Thank you OP

I'd been keeping an eye on the local stock of these since I doubt that my MSI 8800 GT will be sent by Dell, and to my surprise, tonight a local store was listed as having some in stock! I joined the Reward Zone and tried to get the 12% off but the cashier thought that it was only for if you were purchasing off of a Best Buy credit card and instead I only got 10% off (oh well). My total cost will be $224 after taxes and after my 1.25% credit card cash back. Once I have it installed I'll tell Dell to bag it. I'd prefer to have the BFG brand, anyway.

So, did everyone get the OC1 and not the OC2 (with the 70 mm fan)? I'm a little disappointed that they didn't have the new one, but oh well; we're protected by BFG's lifetime replacement warranty. I wonder if these have an updated BIOS.

So what are you all doing, installing Rivatuner and using that to keep the fan speed up and the temps down?

Thanks to this link I got the extra 12% off. Good deal, I can now cancel my Dell order for the MSI card hehe.

Think we'll all be sending these back to BFG in about two years after the little fan dies from running at 80% speed most of the time?

Mine is set at 45% at startup and regular 2D use.

The Temperature Monitoring is set for 60% for temp > 65C, 75% for temp > 70C.

Never had to set it any higher, and the temps in Far Cry and Crysis are ~75C with the fan at 75%.

We have the lifetime warranty, right...?

If the fan dies prematurely, it will be more of the BFG problem than ours.

If we replace the heatsink/fan is the warranty void? I'd like to put a zailman on this thing...

I'm a poor feller, so I'm hoping that the 8800 GT will carry me through Unreal Tournament 4/2010 (assuming it doesn't get completely ruined by a continuing infection of consolitus).

If the fan does eventually die, it will in fact be our problem since we'll have to take our free time and then pay to have it shipped to BFG, but maybe we'll get 9800 GTs back in return.

Gah, it looks like I have one with the 13 bladed fan and BIOS 62.92.16.00.04 (hope that's the latest one).
