Gouging is very frustrating for sure. But just the same, I would not attribute this to any BFG wrongdoing. Not saying you are, just info. This is why I tend not to be an early adopter. I usually wait a few months after release and purchase when it actually hits close to MSRP. I did not buy my 6800GT until it hit 399.00. I hate paying over MSRP as well. But now it might be a little different as there is no competition for the 7800 series until at LEAST late August and thus no real reason to drive the prices of 7800's down. It sucks. I want ATI to get their R520 to market ASAP and fully functional to drive down nvidia prices and let the pricewar begin. Sorry for the slight OT, just kinda morphs.
I was dead set on waiting for the R520, before buying anything. But BF2 made me overhaul my whole PC. In doing so, a friend at the same time moved from Intel, to AMD. We got to talking, and I sold him my A8N-SLI, 3500+. Then he needed a video card.. and reviews showed BF2 running much better on a 7800GTX, than my X850XT/PE. At 1920x1200, I was getting only about 30-35fps, and I wanted more. So I sold him my card too, and ordered the 7800GTX.
It goes against what I advise others to do, in waiting. But to be honest, I dont think ATi will have their card out in the next few months. And I want faster frames now.

Are you dense? The forum I linked to with people who thought it was the wrong speed, is the most NV bias forum and website there is, nvnews. I guess they are "dissin" "nividia" too? NOTHING that I wrote was against NV in any way. I put a question mark in the topic, becuase I wasnt sure it was true. If it was true, it would have been BFG's problem, not NV's.
How about trying to write a decent sentence, and learn to spell please. Its painful to try and read yours as it is.
edit, this thread is dead. Speeds seem to be fine, just a software problem. Let it be dead.
