Hello, I'm new to the forums. This card is too much for me, but my buddy is seriously looking into it. I'd love to save him some bucks, however...I don't get the coupon thing. I know it's not XXXX, and I know it's not allowed to be posted, but how do I get into the club where these coupon codes are known? I can be PM'd or E-mailed the insider info if needed, or just point me in the right direction. Any help is greatly appreciated.

$30 worth of tax in MI.

That combined with possible ship dates that are 2 weeks away makes this a deal to stay away from for me.

$46.66 for NY here :( Deal isn't so sweet now...

Sacraster,
I get charged tax on my World of Warcraft account also and I KNOW Blizzard doesn't have a presence in NY state. Must be congress hard at work.

$46?! Wow, I thought my $27 was bad. I still bought it though, as I don't think I'll be able to find one much cheaper within the next month.

No tax in AZ it seems... in case those in CA are looking for a state that's fairly close. 'course, you gotta find a friend willing to ship it back to you then.

Good luck guys, DELL did this with the X800 Pros and X800XT PEs and that didn't turn out pretty *shudders*

I'm sure they will be cancelling orders when they actually get the cards, because they would rather have people spend another $400 or so on an entire system, rather then just $491.

It's worth a shot though I guess ;)

EvolutionWRC-

They cancelled orders on the X800s because ATI couldn't supply as was expected. Don't know if you remember, but it was practically impossible to find an X800XTPE in stock at the time, let alone on sale (Gateway did the same thing). nV/BFG seem to have that stock crisis more in control at this point.

As for tax- Dell has been putting stands into a number of malls, and I'm sure that there's at least one in some mall in New York.

You guys will be getting emails on the dates there going to ship. Saying that its backordered and what not and if you still want it , to email them back, hehe. They did that to me about 3 or 4 times just for the stupid sony 1gb duo memory stick. The last email they sent i decided not to reply, hehe.Well hopefully they dont pull that sh*t again, but i guess will see. Good luck!

Thats generally a state issue, not federal issue. Hence its your NY state legistlature, not congress :)

I am not an accountant or attorney, but FYI for all those discussing state taxes.

BTW, at least in California even if the online retailer does not charge you sales tax when you file your state taxes you are supposed to declare any online purchases for which you did not pay sales tax. It is called "use tax." A lot of other states have similar statutes. California files supeneas to the major online retailers that do not charge sales tax to obtain a list of purchases. One needs to put down at least as much "use tax" as California was able to learn that you actually purchased without paying tax or risk being audited. Usually one will just get a "polite" letter saying that you failed to declare some of your taxes, but it will raise your chance of being audited.

AHHHH! I can get it tax free!!! AAHHH!!! Must resist...keep credit card in wallet.... Damn you OP :)

Seriously, this is too much for me to spend, but I could basically buy it and then resell it for an $50 markup... but that would be evil :p

Nice find!

Alright I bit. I can't believe I am about to spend this money. Forced me into an A8N-SLI and 3500+ Venice too. Then again, I am old enough to remember my first system P-90, 850MB, 16 MB Ram, and 2MB Vram vid card with NO Sound and NO CDRom costing me $2100. Makes it easier to justify that way.

Anyone want a 6800GT AGP?

That was a bargain. My 386DX40, 4MB RAM, 40MB HD, Trident 1MB costed just as much.

I got me one!!! But, oww...it feels like someone just ripped a massive hole in my arse, right about where my wallet goes. Oh well, the sweet, sweet hotness that is the 7800gtx will ease my suffering.
