Buy a BFG 6800OC for $300 and HalfLife2 for $55 and get a $105 rebate by mail. Just the card alone best deal I found was at outpost.com for $250, so you basically get HL2 for free and a good deal on the card. Also this card comes with FarCry in the box.

I used my Best Buy card for 6 months no interest, plus at checkout they took another 10% off the card but I think that might have been a mistake, it was Sunday the day this deal started.

It takes 8 weeks to get rebate according to the rebate form. I got in on this deal on Saturday. The card works like a charm. Now the CPU is the bottleneck, so that's the next upgrade....

Exactly what I am doing this weekend - upgrading the CPU

I bought this back on 11/30 when it was originally posted and I sent in the rebate a few days later. When I bought the card, it rang up for $270 instead of $300. Plus I used an online $20 BB coupon a couple of days later on it and I price matched HL2 to $40 the next day.....lol
So what is that 270+55-20-15 = 290 - 105(MIR..hopefully they dont cancel it) = 185 GRAND TOTAL

You think they'll send me the rebate?

I'm keeping my fingers crossed but preparing for a fight lol

I mailed my rebate form on 12/3. Now, online rebate status check at BestBuy says that they have received my form. But, the authorization process may take up to 28 days to ensure that I have not returned the product.
I also got the 10% discount and applied a $20.00 coupon. I am worried that they may not approve the rebate. In 28 days, I will not be able to return it either.
I'm not sure what to do. I don't want it without the rebate.

I don't believe the 10% will mess anything up. The $20 should not be that big a deal
either. The way I understand the rebate disclaimer, the worse would be they deduct
$20 from the rebate. Time will tell.

I did not do the $20 off coupon, but I did do the price adjustment (listed as a price match on my new receipt) when the price for HL2 was $39.99 instead of $54.99. I asked the Customer service lady if this would be a problem with receiving my rebate and she said "it shouldn't be a problem". I will be making copies of everything, and sending it certified mail or whatever I need to do to verify mail date.

Be careful.
If you read the rebate form, it says:
"Customers who receive a price match will not be eligible for the rebate".

I got a price match when I went back to the store and told them that they haad not given me the 10% off. Later, I went back and showed them the rebate form, and they changed the price match to exchange. I hope everything works out. I don't mind if they deduct $20.00. But, it will be a shame if they reject the whole rebate.
