Let me see if I got this straight. They are selling them to the public for $399.99 and to their employees for $311. That is quite a profit for them! Especially considering they are still making a profit selling to their employees. Think I will wait until the price comes down no matter how much I need a new video card. A profit I understand but not this much.

the discount varires from products to product they sell..

As this deal cannot be replicated without some sort of friend/freind at BestBuy (which by definition seems oxymoronic), a better place for this entire thread would be here. Get it?

Spoke with a good freind there and he told me it was 310.98 for them..I said WHAT!..Wow
So I asked ..can you get it for me ..he said sure..I gave him the money 325.00 with tax here in florida.

thats what i remember when i worked there a few years back. some things bb sells some things for much more profit (car audio, accessories, cables, etc...) computer gear is not sold for much more than the cost so its a smaller discount.

all depends on markup.

thats not that bad of a markup, other things such as clothes has a waaaay bigger markup

you don't have to know someone, you just have to be friendly and convince a bb employee to get one for you. We've had tons of great deals where you had to call customer service and ask for a certain discount, and tons where you had to get a coupon code in your email, and they were all hot, and so is this one.

Alternatively, you could go get a job there, work one day on a weekend, buy it, then quit Or work for a week or two and get enough extra cash to buy one outright!

Sorry, son I got you beat... I got my for a whopping $240.00
I bought one of the AMD combos for $197.00 shipped and then traded it away to someone else plus $40.00 for a nice BFG 6800GT which has been overclocked via the firmware, to a nice 6800ULTRA...
