bfg 6800gt in old board

I cant install XP on my computer. See here. Basicly it seems that some people have trouble installing XP with the geforce mx400 for some odd reason. I was thinking I could swap vid cards, but unfortunately the only one I have that is not in a computer currently is a bfg 6800gt. Will it run on my old board? For some reason I was thinking maybe the AGP voltage changed or something, if it wont work what is a card that will? I could buy it see if it works and if not just return it.

Thanks

I can't say for certain, sorry 🙁 The board supports 4x AGP but having had issues with a power hungry 8x card in a 4x board, and seeing a few others have the problem too, one a GT, there is no guarantee. A big player is the PSU of course, as long as you have a good one you can factor that out anyways. I don't know why the one guy had to use a pci card to do the install and then was able to use the G2 afterwards, but I wouldn't let that stop me from trying a 7500 or G4MX to try the install with that's for certain.
