We'll I decided to take the jump and upgrade since I got a friend who worked at bestbuy so I got the employee discount plus the rebate and the card only ended up costing me less than 150 bucks. Anyways I did some rough benchmarks yesterday with final fantasy 11 benchmark 3. It turns out my highest benchmark with the nvidia was 4705 while the 9700pro was 4750.
9700 Pro w/ arctic silencer and tweakmonster ramsinks
overclocked to 335/380
the drivers i'm using at the offical catalyst driver 4.11

6800 oc unlocked to 16x6 from 12x5 running at 350/700mhz
the drivers i'm using are forceware 67.03 (only one that would work without deinterlace with video playback)
I also used the 66.93, 67.20 and the newest beta 6742. video used to play step into liquid.

System specs:
Asus A7n8x-e
Athlon 3000 xp barton core
Pqi 2-2-2-5 (samsung tccd)
Ultra x-connect 500w psu
Now someone tell me is there something wrong with my setup ? I also tried overclocking the 6800 oc using stock vertex/pipelines at 12,5 and was able to achieve 370/775 before coolbit wouldn't let me pass the test anymore and the benchmark came out to be 4651 on the benchmark 3.
