BFG 6800 GT??? where are they?

Anyone know where I can buy one online? I have looked everywhere and I cant find any place that has them in stock. I put an order in at www.chumbo.com along with 10,000 other people if not more a week and a half ago but I have heard nothing from them. Anyone know?

I dont really want to pay the markup but it looks like I may have to if I want one right away. My roomate just bought an EVGA for $400 a couple weeks ago, he tried over clocking it to 420 or 425 and he said UT2K4 would lock up and so would Far Cry for a few seconds.

I called Frys here in Seattle, the kid on the phone said they didnt have any in and had no idea when they were going to get more, he said maybe by the end of the week but hes probably just guessing.

There are some other brands (pny, gt) in stock for reasonable price (<450) at various etailers

The fry's here in Oregon ran out, but the guy said it should be in this week or early next week.

The Sunnyvale Frys get the EVGA, BFG and PNY GTs in every week, but they go quick. Even the open boxes/returns are selling like hotcakes!

Best Buy stores should be getting a limited supply of the BFG's in soon. I work for Best Buy in eastern North Carolina and the stores in my district each have 2 or 3 allotted to arrive in the next few weeks (hopefully). Check back with the stores constantly and ask them to see if they have any "in transit" or "inbound allocated." You can give them the model number of the card from the BBY website to search by, since they will probably not have a specific SKU available. I will hopefully be yankning mine off the truck not too long from now, I'll update when our stores get 'em in.

Did you just say the each best nuy store is expected to get 2 or 3 units in the next three weeks ? only 2-3 cards per store in a month ?!? if that's what you mean, I guess this shortage is even worse than what I thought.

I cant believe that its so hard to get this card, you would think they can make enough to meet the demand. Ill keep trying Frys and Best Buy like you guys said but I was hoping to find one online so I dont have to pay the tax on it.

Yeah your best bet is fry's. I was lucky to find one while just buying blank CDs and thought "might as well check the video card section out". Found the last remaining one just sitting there. Of course its opened but hell if it works, has a marked down price, and BFG's excellent warranty....Why not . This is one of So. Cal. Fry's

To confirm, got an e-mail from some of the higher-ups @ BBY in regards to the 6800GT's (I work @ BBY for those who missed it) and my district in Eastern NC is slated to get 2-3 BFG 6800GT's at somepoint soon. They are "On Order," which means a warehouse has them and at some point they will get shipped to us. The e-mail cited supply shortage as the cause of the extreme delay and small shipping numbers. GL to those who will rush to find one @ BBY, good thing I'll yank mine right off the truck

Price gouging #1 @ $140 above MSRP

If you are wanting a BFG simply because it comes "slightly" overclocked, please keep in mind that nearly all of the 6800GT's will run Ultra+ speeds without breaking a sweat.

No I basically have heard a lot of good things about the BFG and the lifetime warranty is very very appealing.

Ordered a GT from Chumbo on the 20th, now they say it'll be another 2-3 weeks before they even get any in.

Think I'll just go get an evga.

UPDATE: BEST BUY STORES HAVE BFG 6800GT IN STOCK. All of the stores in Eastern NC have 2-3 in stock and I would imagine it is similar nation-wide. Go to BEstBuy.com, look up the GT, and use "Check Store Availability" to see if your stores SHOULD have them. Then call up in the morning and have them look it up in "RSS" under the model number "BFGR68256G" and see. $399.99 plus tax; good luck to all, 'cuz mine is in my hands!!

first of all nitrousninja, sweet ride BFG has un-matched customer service &amp; warranty coverage in video cards today. They have a true lifetime warranty and come pre-overclocked from the factory, thus their cards cover overclocking. They have 24/7 tech support and just kick ass in general. IMO, you can't buy a better nVidia card, for the company alone.
