You don't have to have anything up a GeForce 2 to play games. Wanting to play games at high settings is entireley different ;) .

I dont have an OC card, but a regular 6800GT
1. What program can I oc with
2. What speeds are the OC setting stocked at?

You don't have to o/c a GT. It's way more than fast enough stock.
Wanting to is entirely different. It means your more interested in benchmarking than the games themselves. I never understood that, but to each his own.

Huh?

These are not GeForce 2 cards.... they're plenty fast out of the box.
1. coolbits2
2. 370/1000

From my expericence, you don't have to overclock these cards to get more than adequate game playing at high resolutions. If you want to overclock, go ahead, but just realize that there have been some that have not faired well after running at speeds that coolbits2 says they're optimal at - my personal experience.
So go ahead, pop one in, crank it up to Ultra speeds, and then go gaze at the stars. Hopefully, when you come back in, your screen won't be a scrambled mess. And if it is, are you willing to accept personal responsibility that it was you that fried the card? That is the only question you need to ask yourself when overclocking - that and why do I need to overclock, which I guess you already answered. That's what I ask myself all the time.
Good luck.

HehHeh, looks like you pretty much got my comment there, FC. What I meant was that no matter how fast one's card or system is, or no matter how on top someone may be, the tendency is to always look above and beyond, to break boundaries, and, to steal a phrase, "go where no man has gone before."

Now of course, Captain Kirk did have to juggle quite a few headaches in pursuit of banging hot green alien beeyotches, but hey, it's the potential payoff that matters for us adventurers!

And no, I wouldn't RMA if I fried my own piece - that's the knocks of the overclock.

Still, though, if I can reap benefits from being more than 0% assured that the OC on top of the OC has worked for at least a few dudes who have "gone where no dude has gone before", then I would be more likely to try it. My goal with the thread is to expand my knowlege and mitigate as much risk as possible before engaging in an OC.

Call me a 2nd rate Captain Kirk, but hey, $433.95 is a lot of money to me in risking a go at it alone ;)

Make sense people? Okay, let's have those numbers! :D
