I downloaded the bios with the voltage and core mod. am running 400mhz core now. Temp has gone upt o 65 max so far.

Thanks. I used the 1.4 volt version with the stock BFG bios. Mine went to 418/ 1.07 optimal testing in coolbits. That is a nice improvement. I will try the 1.5 version after I see what the 1.4 can do.

Edit:
I think my memory is limiting me. I ran 420 and 1.1 and got artifacts in Farcry. I bumped the memory down to 1.0 and left the core at 420 and it ran great. Any way to volt mod the memory?

Don't mean to be rude but I couldn't stand you calling it a GF4 Ti9600 any longer....it's a 4200.

You're right although it's not running like a 4200 (much closer to 4600 speed) so to offer a good reference point I just called it a 4600. Sorry to be confusing. I guess I just like to think of it with optimism as a 4600. 🙂

well unless you have the 1.6ns ram (only gainward GS have them for sure other cards its come and go) thats about the limit of the ram, i dont know if overvolting the memory will help anything other than making the chips more unstable or hotter, probably both.

I got on a deal a few days ago and got a Gainward 6800GT GS for $429 shipped (2day) from monarch. I would check them periodically as they have some random sales that really come out of nowhere.
