Anyone know of a fix for this issue?

Fps seem to drop down to the 10s for no reason.

In single card I have no issues but sli it just runs badly.

1080 everything maxed 150% rez scale. Had it at 200 but it makes the drops even worse. Could it be vram?

Cards are ref 780ti. CPU 3930k 32 gigs ssd 1050 PSU.

Nothing is over clocked.

Resolution scale is OGSSAA, so yeah, it's going to negatively affect performance in a very dramatic fashion if you push it too far. It's basically akin to edging towards 4k resolution as you increase it, essentially. Needless to say, it is the most expensive form of SSAA. And all forms of AA use VRAM with OGSSAA using the most, SGSSAA using a little less but still a lot, MSAA using a ton of VRAM, FXAA and MLAA use zero VRAM.

In order of performance hit and VRAM use it goes like this: OGSSAA (resolution scale) biggest performance hit and the most VRAM use > SGSSAA > MSAA 8X > MSAA 4X (etc). FXAA and MLAA do not use any VRAM.

Well even at 100% I was still having weird fps drops. It was more dramatic at 200% rez because of the performance hit.

But if I run a single card maxed out at 100% rez the game runs awesome. SLI not so much.

Yeah probably everything. VRAM and memory bandwidth and just raw gpu power. BF4 at 200% looks unreal. I can run 1080p at 135% and keep above 45fps on ultra on a 780. Of course I turn off FXAA. I keep MSAA on. I still see random aliasing every now and then.

Can't wait until I can run 200% at a consistent 60fps. Probably will take 2 or more generations of video cards.

For those saying today's cards are more than powerful enough for games this is a great example of why they are not close to being powerful enough to provide ultimate visual experiences. And with 4k coming out GPU tech is woefully behind. There needs to be a paradigm shift in GPU design.

Your cpu @ stock speeds is holding the cards back. At 1440P I run Max settings, 2xMSAA, no PostAA, 130% Res scale and get 60fps all the time. Granted my cards are clocked at 1200Mhz.

I was hoping that was not the case.

I might have to duelve(sp) into OCing it.

Look like it was vram.

I looked this time and i was maxing out the 3 gigs. I turned the AA to 0 but left rez scaling %200 and im using about less than 3000 MB of vram now for the few maps i have played and it has not had any weird drops.

Probably better off mixing in some 2xMSAA, no postAA, and some res. scale, vs. no MSAA and 200% res scale.

That must look unreal.

Yes, yes it does. And these 780 Ti's just shrug it off too
