2 questions:

is origin client worth using? cause the price for shipped media is same as price for digital download, and i don't care about time. if it were steam or amazon, wouldn't care. not sure on origin client.

will a phenom II x4 945, 6gb ram, and 5770 (standard clocks on everything) work out okay?

The boxed copy will still require origin. I think it comes with a limited edition poster though so if you want that, you get it for the same price as digital. Digital doesn't come with the poster. Origin works well for me. Sits in my tray like Steam.

i picked up the boxed copy. didn't even know about the poster till it said something about it in the receipt.

also bought dante's inferno for xbox360.

Bought BF3 from Amazon because of this thread. Even @ $30, the single player is sucking so far. I hope the story/gameplay gets better....

*Edit*
@Fayd: BFBC2 had a very good single player game. Good enough that I've gone back and played it again. It ended with an obvious sequel set up.

It should be okay with custom tweeks... maybe settings somewhere between low and medium or have some stuff on high - nothing on ultra... like you should not care about having nice shadows or crystal clear water in the streams...D:

Really interesting how EA lowered the prices drasticly. You will never see any CoD in more than 5% sale 1 month after release...

For each of these games like BF3 or Driver San Francisco, there's a choice between the higher resolution and mouse/kb of the PC, or big screen and controller of the PS3.

I went through amazon on friday for the PC download @$29.99.
Still showing that now Sunday night for the download.😎

None of you care about the 500+ 1 star rating on amazon? I can see why this game is so popular even with the stuff EA does and have you sign away at. My nephews will most likely pick this game up too but I'll be a good boy scout and not support EA.

Those 'reviews' are full of shit, much like the overt crapping over MW3 at metacritic (and I don't even like CoD games, but they're 5-7 at worst, not 1 or 1.5).

BF3 is a LOT of fun. There are some bugs, but I've had a 99% trouble-free experience.

Origin is unobtrusive. The browser-based launching is odd at first, but works well.

Read the BF3 thread.

This. User reviews are largely worthless for either series because finding unbiased people is near impossible. Well over 50% are l33t fanbois or trolls.

Just bought it and Crysis 2 for under 40 bucks. How can I lose. Love bf3 on xbox but am dying for the control and visuals of the pc!

that's bad company and bad company 2.

there was a battlefield 2 before bad company.

it had no single player. just multiplayer.

Well it had no single player CAMPAIGN. It did have a singe player, which was just the same MP maps but with bots.
