Looks good, I really want some night levels in this game...dont like how they say the maps are generally getting smaller, as I find some of the smaller ones with 64 people playing suck.
Bunch of new teams sounds cool too. But most exicting part for me is the grapping hooks and what not, should just make it cooler and funner...make for some more stealth stuff..definetly looking forward to this.
Don't worry, not till November so we have plenty of time to get our moneys worth of the original first.

P.S. Although I do find it very funny that they are working & focusing on their expansion when they are having a hard time fixing the original game :p.

Oh yes, let's not fix the full game first.

Oh wait, I forgot.

Patches don't bring in money. Expansions do.

:)

ea raping the community with the f*cking ranked servers and this "expansion pack" that should be free. why the f*ck don't they fix the issues they already have. what about a bf2 editor? what about a decent managment program. ea is dropping the ball more than a whore drops her pants at the bunny ranch:evil:

This expansion is going to be targetting massive infantry battles, I completely agree with that since the game as it currently stands really lacks huge infantry battles.

Hopefully, the maps will have fewer capture points which will force larger conflicts rather than small skirmishes.

I completely agree with you.
They should stop counting their money for a second and release a "working" patch.
And why can't they add a Favorite Servers List in the game? It's not that hard to code.
Just about every other games out there has em.

This is really fvcking retarded. There are so many problems with the game right now, and people are getting PISSED. First we find out that the team went on vacation immediately after release and now they're working on an expansion.

This game had better be rock-farking-stable when that pack hits the shelves, or I'm going to go ballistic.

They still haven't announced the "hotfix" patch after their bungling of the patch they released last week, have they?

Ahh... good news from the article:

"The focus on this expansion is really on the Special Forces. We also have the live team which is still handling Battlefield 2 support, which is looking at fixing a lot of those other problems."

I would prefer that they fix the game I already bought, rather than producing a new one for me to buy.

A small snippet from the interview suggests that there are two teams at work right now: one to fix the bugs and one to work on the expansion.

Is this expansion a joke???

1)We get a full game fill with only 12 maps.
2)This game doesnt work properly
3)And they talk about releasing an expansion already.....FU EA! :|

so one team probably doesn't communicate with the other, so in a best case scenario the patch will fix the problems but the expansion pack wil f*ck it up again...

Most likely.

I just feel bad for Dice. I've had projects rushed on me at work and I've had people demand certain "features" that I knew would not be received well by the users... and when the subpar product is finally released, it's MY group that gets the flak.

It's such a disappointment because BF2 is just an amazing game. Over the past couple of years, my interest in games has really dwindled and it now takes a pretty impressive experience to hook me... but BF2 did it. If I were responsible for the some of the genius that went into that product, I'd be so pissed off that it was marred by a rushed released.

I still remember that sinking feeling I got when I read about EA taking a run at Dice...

I can barely contain my laughter from this announcement.

I'd entertain the idea if the current incarnation worked on my game machine.

i am addicted to the game, i stopped playing CS:S and Guild Wars cus of this, it sux about the ranked servers and how hard it is to even get into one but i just keep on trying and i eventually get into one, I for one am happy for an expansion but of course it'll be $30 and wont patch anything and i would hope to see some new maps not just new vehicles cus im getting tired of the maps a little but it's fun to load up a blackhawk and tear up everyone with the miniguns

Sounds like a cool addition to the game. Hopefully BF2 itself will be smoother by the release of the expansion, though.

It sounds like they want to put more pressure on Counter Strike and take more of that market. These maps will be smaller and focus on foot battles.
I'm sure it will cost around $30, it's all about the money.
