BF2 Retail Maps

I've had the retail version installed on my system for a couple weeks now, but I keep going back to the demo. The size of the map, the layout, the varied terrain all make for fantastic rounds with 64 players on a server.

You get lots of big firefights, yet if you want it's easy to sneak around and cap flags in the enemies rear.

Whenever I join a retail server, it feels like I am running around by myself. Even on a 64 player server, it seems like there are never more than ten players on my screen at once. It's not very exciting, my adrenaline doesn't get going, and I don't get the community feeling I do in the demo.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

They need more infantry maps. (read: NO APCs or TANKS)

Hell, the 32 player version of Strike @ Karkand would be perfect if they got rid of the APCs and Tanks. Whoever has armor just sits 50 meters back and base rapes the spawn points.

If you've ever played the 30 bot modified version, it's much funner. Infantry battle = fun.

I agree with JustAnAverageGuy. They need more maps with NO TANKS or APCs. I could be actually have fun at sniping...

Fewer Flags would help. I disagree with the more Infintry needed posts, I'd like some small Infantry only Maps, but also some bigger Vehicle battle maps. IOW, the Map sizes aren't the problem, it's the amount of Flags in them that is. There are hardly any battles, just a bunch of people rushing from flag to flag avoiding any battles.

I'm only playing strike at Kirkland myself. no air = fun. I almost allways play anti tank so tanks and APC's = targets. Got in a good squad last night and stayed with server on flag rotation. We got a Blackhawk, now I see what all the discussion is about. Machine guns sticking out every which way.

I found this too, everyone is either in some kind of vehicle or hiding... so you never get into a firefight...

but, if you put on "Small Maps" and play in a 63/64 player server, its a little bit better.
