Are the accounts transferable for online play? Or can you just create a new one yourself with the CDKEY? Thinking of picking up a used version on the F/S forum.

IDK, but for about a week, my roommate installed and used my copy of BF2 because my computer kept crashing to desktop, so I couldn't play. He installed it and logged into his account, no problem (his acct was from the demo). When I fixed my comp, I just took the disks back and all was well. He has since purchased BF2 (BB deal -- less than $30) and seems to be fine logging in to his acct.
 
Is the CDKey tied to a particular account? That's probably the biggest question. I know in Guild Wars it is, thus once you make the account the CDKey cannot be used again to make a new account...But then there are games like COD2 where everything is purely based on the CDKEY when playing online.
 
The game account is tied to your email address. You can have as many accounts as you want, but only one account per email address.
