BF2 Question....

Ok so i was stupid and when i got promoted i held off on getting a new weapon. So i chose, pick later. Well i kind of want to choose now, how do i select it. Or do i have to suffer and pick next time i get promoted.

Good choice, the DAO-12 is nice and considered one of the few true upgrades. I am hoping we get the FN P90 option in the main game with the forthcoming patch but the scuttlebutt seems to be it will only be included in the add-on pack maps (unlike the SF weapons which while they could only be selected by purchasers of that expansion, could at least be used in the core game and picked up by any player when left on the battlefield).

Well i haven't had much of a chance to use it yet. Adelphia was down once again so that took time away. ANd then the rest of the time, i set the planes and what not to use joystick. Let me tell you it is >999x easier now.

The only problem is flying now. I cant seem to get it down yet. I am an AWESOME gunner, but i cant fly too well. Is there some way that i can practice without killing my score? Also when you guys are flying in the jets do you go full speed all the time?? I have to slow down to hit ground targets accurately.

hey, you should be at full throttle the whole time. Yeah it takes some practice to get the bombs to fall where you want them, and after you release the bombs look back to see where they fell. and just do this in ac created a LAN game, and Pracitce flying there, it helped me alot.

Aren't they laser guided though. Is there some way for me to aim where i sort of want them. I did create a server and work on it there; i got a lot better too. However some of the guys that are flying are incredible, especially with evasion. I think have gotten 4 airkills and numerous numerous deaths. The kill😀eath ratio for me is horrible.

Only the secondary position in the bombers and helos have guided weapons. In first position or single seaters it will just take some practice if it does not come naturally to drop bombs where you want. Of course the steeper the dive the less error in trajectory is likely. Using the guns on a target may help your judgement and at least will soften them up for the bombs so a direct hit is less crucial.

I do vary the throttle all the time. A slower speed allows a tighter turn or more time to gun a target (or for secondary position to aquire a lock). It can also help with more advanced evasion, particularly with the hover jet. But it would be best to practice any maneuvers on your local server first though as it is easy to make yourself vulnerable.

It is definitely useful to change views -watch your bombs as said, plus occasionally check your six for bandits 😉

Also, keep your target in bomb mode so all land vehicles are easily spotted and other aircraft are not alerted by your missile mode although sometimes it can be used to harrass them even if you are out of ammo. This happens on Wake for example if the airfield is taken by the USMC and the PRC cannot resupply so I'll just buzz enemy helos and trail jets and hopefully they will panic and crash but at least they will be less free to attack friendlies. Actually, if you clip enemy aircraft right they can be destroyed or forced into a crash while only taking some damage yourself.

Yes, I have fun flying in BF2 😀
