is there an anandtech clan? im thinking about getting a ranked server running again.
 
what i would need is people to admin the server and ban the heck out people who use the wall hack, and make it and infantry only server on maps karkland, sharqi and mashtur.

i know a server like that but everyone on it hacks
 
Yeah I think hacks and cheats are quite rare. I don't believe it's simply that easy to get by Punkbuster. Most of what people call hacks is people exploiting the gameplay, like before they fixed dolphin diving and crap like that.


I'm not interested in joining a clan, but an AT server would be cool. And another vote for infantry maps.
 
I think bf2 is one of those games where hacks wouldn't help that much anyway. I mean i'm really good at spotting people, anticipating their moves. and an auto aim seems unnecessary, i mean it isn't cs:S.

but i'd definitely be down for an AT server.

do you realize how much the ranked server will cost per month?

i'd suggest 32-44 -- whatever you can afford.

i used to have 24 player for 100 per month, but they are a lot cheaper now.

 
1 guy posted that you get better weapons if you buy the special forces expansion pack, and you get owned if you still have the original version.

knowing EA and their reputation, I'm not suprised. you gotta admit though, the first few rounds through the game is pretty addictive...

edit: I read the next post, ... and I KNOW - hell YEAH~ even in the original version, you only get to chose so many option where it doesn't even feel like you are in control of the game anymore. I hate when you have to swim for 7 minutes just to try and find the shore.. then a damn enemy chopper comes by and blasts you away. WT-Hhhhhhhhhh

Disagree. The night maps suck, but the other maps are so much more fun than regular BF2.


The only people that hate SF are vehicle whores. They are pissed because the playing field is too levelled between infantry and armor/helos.
 
There was sort of an AnandTech clan when the game first came out, X-Clan. We started organizing before the demo came out, and played together for a few months... there were prob at least 10 of us, all from AT. We pub'd alot, and tried CAL BF2 Season1 for a few weeks. Then people weren't that active anymore, and it eventually just died.
 
Pssh, it is all about the Battlefield 2142 beta now. Been playing it now for about 72 hours and already hit my fourth rank and sixth unlock, keep in mind there are 30 some unlocks so far, and man this game just keeps getting better. They seemed to have fixed a ton of issues they had and from what I've read we have a pretty old bulid which makes the next beta going to be insane when it comes out. If you guys want once I get home today I can post a few screenies.
