BF2 on Vista Ultimate 64-bit

Ive been trying to play BF2 on Vista, but the game crashes when ever I try to join a server. The game installed with no problems and I patched it with v 1.41. I run the game in Xp SP2 compatibility mode and as Administrator. The game will start up just fine and I can brows through the servers, but once I try to join a server the game closes. Anyone else had problems like this?
 
I had that issue...had to right click on the game icon and go to properties and set that to "run as admin" as well. Took care of it for me.
 
Yes and yes. I updated PB manually and Ive tried running it without Xp compatibility mode. Still the same thing, game quits the second I click the join server button.
 
I was having issues with Vista and BF2, game crashed but I at least played for a bit, and since BF2 is my thing, I had to go back to XP. BF2 wasn't designed for Vista so thats the gamble. Good Luck
 
I was running BF2 on vista fine for a year and then it just started giving me an "invalid cd key" error when joining servers. Tried to re-install but now SF crashes partway through the installation. Starting to get pretty frustrated with it.
