BF2 - new update

What's going on? I don't have SF yet, but installed the new patch. Then my ping is going all crazy. Are there 2 vesions of the patch, one for SF and one for BF2? Did I install the wrong one?
 
There is only the 1 patch but you need to install SF before installing the 1.12 update. If you already did this then I don't know of anything else you can try...I did notice some of the display properties had reverted to the default settings once the game was patched so you could have a look there.
 
1.12 patch is for both versions! Most servers (regular and SF) have updated to this patch and you will not be able to play on them unless you have it.

1.12 is meant for both vanilla and special forces.

There are a number of threads on the topic in the ea.uk forums and the planetbattlefield forums.

I haven't read them yet, but it might be something to look into if you're having problems.
