So has been my problem ever since battlefield 1.3...

after about an hour of playing perfectly with no jumps or jitters, the game starts lagging because my pagefile is being used. i have 2gb of ram and the pagefile shouldn't be touched. it runs perfectly fine until some random heavy graphics moment after an hour or so of gameplay then it starts dumping to the pagefile and i have to stop playing because it gets so laggy.

prior to entering the game task manager will read 300mb used or something less which is basically just my background apps, ect ect... after i close battlefield 2 when something like this happens it says 1.00 or 1.07 gb....

even though the game is closed completely! now i cant run the game again until i restart cuz it will try to use my pagefile and run crappy. after a restart its back to 300mb.

is there anyway or program to delete things from ram??? somehow free it up so i dont have to restart????

I have the latest patch 1.3 required to play on the net ranked servers....

The weird thing is, if i add up all the running processes BEFORE starting the game. it equals what it says is being used, around 300.

If I add up the memory of all the processes after running the game it still adds up to around 300, but theres 1000mb being used!!! WHAT GIVES!

I tried all these ghetto mem defrag/optimizer/free-er uppers and none of them work. i dunno what else to do. I basically need something to remove things from the ram or check exactly whats in it thats filling it up uselessly.

I'd try a different forum. Try finding a forum that is geared towards BF2. You'll probably get a lot more help there and or try the software forum here.

so i figured out what it was.... i noticed the game would only start paging during some heavy scene likeeeee flying through artillery in a heli while blowing up tanks.....

so i uninstalled the 91.31 drivers and went back to the tried and true 84.56 and no more problem!!

(btw im on a geforce 6800gt pcix)
