BF2 Medic Exploit

Hello fellow BF'ers,

I think I have found the most rediculous bug in the whole game.

Anyways, read on -

Ok, I'm playing on a small 16 man server on Dragon Valley. There are two guys from the same clan, yet one is playing on the US team, and one is playing as a medic on my team. So I join with the medic on my team and form a squad with just the two of us. Ok, so we run to cap a flag. The clan member on the other team ambushes us and kills me, but does not kill his fellow clan member (the medic in my two man squad). He waits for the medic (keep in mind that this is one of his friends from the clan) on my team to heal me, then shoots me once I'm revived. Since I have no time to react, I cannot kill him, or commit suicide. I'm basically trapped. Shoot, kill, revive, shoot kill revive, shoot, kill revive, etc, etc.

So the guy shooting me gets about fifty kills, and the medic on my team gets a buttload of medic points. The only thing I could do was disconnect. There should be an option where you choose not to be revived by a medic.

I later find out that the whole process was part of both clan members' plan.

i've seen videos of this. problem is, you have almost no time to switch teams or suicide, because they revive you so quick.

I don't play BF2 but it sounds like a nitemare.

Online gaming does bring the worst out of some individuals, apparently.

Sweet...anybody want to play right now? ;)

JK, but this should be an easy enough exploit to spot in somebody's stats. 50+ kill streak or main opponent killed 50 times, etc.

that sucks man. I haven't seen that happen, but I'd report the 2 members of that clan to EA and DICE at least. Not sure if they'll do anything to them personally, but they will consider it and hopefully patch it so that it's not possible anymore.

Never got the names of them though. Wish I had. Oh well, there isn't anything I can do about it now, but I will definately be on the lookout for it again.

That's funny (in a 'that sucks, but it's funny' kind of way)

Basically I knew that one of the ways to rack up pretty well was to be a medic, I guess it was only a matter of time before people figured out that this kind of ping-pong was a way to get serious points quickly.

As I was reading through your post I was able to figure out what you were going to say soon after you mentioned 2 members of the same clan and joining the group with the medic. Sad that people will do this, but with the whole "experience points" type of system implemented, this kind of cheesing was inevitable. I wish they didn't have the BS 'levels' and 'experience points'.

This can actually happen by accident. I've noticed when I'm a medic in a squad and we are trying to advance on some place they get killed, I revive, revive, revive, and they die, die, die. Unless the dagger changes to another location, I continue to revive unless someone says otherwise through the voice chat. In times like this I get 70+ points. I rarely play on ranked servers tho.

wtf is the matter with people that their stats in a game are that important. i wish they could get blacklisted somehow.

Today while playing the demo I saw a assault raft parachute into the middle of the map and 4 guys got out.

Its called point farming and its a rampant problem, email EA. Thats all you can do for now.

Another thing that you can do is email the server admins, tell them the names of the asswads and hopefully the admins will keep an eye out for them.

We've all seen that video already. It's well known.

I wouldn't call that an exploit or a bug as much as I would call the players in the clan a couple of immature asshats who ruin otherwise fun games.

Your biggest mistake was not taking a screenshot and not disconnecting sometime before 50 kills (preferably after 2). Ah well.

No, it's an exploit. These people are doing it to get 'points' which count towards higher 'ranks'. Higher ranks allow for unlocked weapons and a better chance of becoming commander. They are most certainly exploiting the system in order to get 'points' faster than usual.

I've never seen that happen, but that's a cheap way to get points. Would it be a good idea to have "diminishing returns" like WoW has in BF2?
