BF2 Lag Question

OK can someone please try to explain where to Aim when you are AT?

For all this time I have just played AT on and off and have had some super irritating stuff happen and now am finally fed up enough to ask.

When shooting a tank...how is it that sometimes it takes 4 or sometimes 5 rockets to kill...when othertimes it seems like if you are in the tank you are dead in two shots...

Is there a special place to shoot...front vs back....turret vs. tracks?

Also, when someone is attempting to run you down in a buggy or truck...and you shoot at them only to have your rocket go through their windshield and get killed.

WHERE IN THE FVCK do you have to aim to kill these turds that attempt to run you down...

for example....on jabala. Standing in the field...car barreling down on you....

You take aim...shoot and track the missle to the hood of the car...but it doesn't hit...goes through the car and you get dead.

Do you shoot above it....in front of it...cause actually shooting at the damn car doesn't seem to get you jack sh!t.

Yes, there are spots on the tank that you should aim for to inflict more damage. Here's a link to a page showing the areas of the tank. I had seen a better page before which I thought was at BF2S but I can't find it.

As for your second issue I haven't seen it so I'm not sure.

thanks for the link, that is helpful...

As for the second one...you have never had a buggy barreling down on you on a map and attempted to shoot it?

dude you gotta be kidding me, you never seen that?!

Happens to me all the time - everyone complains about it.

Sadly I don't know the answer to what to aim for with a car, maybe the tires? I never figured it out either. It seems some people have though because when I try the same thing I get blown up

BF2 is damn fun but it's full of so many irritating bugs like this and the developers seem to have abandoned it

I'm pretty sure the AT rockets have a standoff distance. You can't use them point-blank. That may be your problem when trying to shoot at a vehicle driving towards you at high speed.

Also, that guide doesn't mention it, but the AT rockets are less effective if you hit the vehicle's armor at an angle.

On your two points...so If you hit a car from an angle that is stationary then it does less damage? I can see that I guess...probably same with a tank.

I still laugh and cry at the same time when you actually do hit a buggy or something and it doesn't even start to smoke 😀

As for the other comment regarding distance...I beg to differ...like the poster above you I have been blown up point blank range as I am attempting to drive over someone...

The part that REALLY irritates me is when it is a dead on shot...not shooting at an angle (up or down) but a flat line of sight where they are comming straight at you.

To me it wouldn't matter about lag if the rocket you are shooting is parallel to the group and should techinically at some point enter the hitbox/car....but it doesn't. It magically flies through the grill and you get dead.

With an RPG? Maybe... I rarely play Anti-Tank and that situation doesn't happen to me a lot so I can't really remember that happening. Maybe it has once or something, I don't know.

Nope, haven't you noticed you can jack yourself up very easily if you shoot a wall on accident instead of popping out and shooting off an ERYX like you meant to? AT rockets have no minimum arming distance, its just the netcode that simply can't recitfy the two opposing velocities of the rocket and the buggy at close range.

vs the buggy, just shoot at the ground if its comming straight at you. At this point I don't think they are going to fix the issue.
