BF2 Improvements?

For the gaming community that is praying for a new patch to fix the woes of BF2...don't hold your breath. EA games..stinks..plain and simple...good ideas poor implementation..Im a long time C&C Generals player...and they have never fixed the crash bugs in that game. I think they are over there heads.
 
EA abandons old games, they don't support it with patches anymore. That being said, BF2 isn't abandoned yet, so the new patch should be pretty good. Besides, I think it's Dice who are the masterminds of BF2, and they're not going to let EA do it by themselves.
 
A bit off topic, but I see that the Game Forums that EA had been running off of their UK site have been down for a couple of days, now. This is where the only official BF2 forums were located (apparently, EA abandoned similar game forums for their USA site a while ago).

When you go to the site, you get a message that the boards are down for "extended maintanence".
 
less resource hog, tanks are a hassle to drive ... but i don't know what they could do about them ...

oh and why do i always get disconnected when i try to connect to a ranker server? it says i have a modified version or modified content

i think thats about it. the game is very good

about not being able to connect maybe u should reinstall it. ive never had that problem

You can manually run punkbuster update if that's the problem. If your punkbuster is up to date, then run a virus scan because something modified a file.

Once I set most of my graphics settings to medium per the guide that is out there....manually updated punkbuster with the previous link and then deleted the cache folders, it has run reasonably well. Much, much less lag and overall pretty good. They still need to fix some stuff, but I don't get as irritated with it.

I have no problem with the patch being delayed. I would have had no problem with the whole damn game being delayed. That pile that they released on the public was abysmal. The last patch was a good start... this next one had better be epic. They should take all the time they need.

By the way, my guess is that they took the forums down for "maintenance" so the devs wouldn't have to read posts by a bunch of frothing gamers that were hacked off at the delay announcement.

Frankly, I found the announcement to be a VERY good sign. I'd much rather wait until the end of September, or October, whatever, if it means this next patch won't leave us all wondering when the next one after that will come.
