You have to keep the throttle up. If you don't maintain speed, you crash. Just like a real jet. You have to use the same keys as you do for walking.
W - Go Forward
S - Go Back
A- Strafe left
D - strafe right

If you double tap W, then you use the afterburner to get a little extra speed, such as if you are the harrier jet and you are taking off from a hover.

Hold down the W key while you are flying, or let off it temporarily to slow down when you are bombing a target or turning to chase another jet.

I'm not a jet expert, I prefer choppers. But it takes a lot of practice to become a good pilot.

I adjusted my sensitivity on my mouse for flying jets so that it would take less mouse movement. You may or may not want to try this . It's all about personal preference.

This reminds me of the time I saw some dude get in the jet 3 consecutive spawns in a row and every single time he did the exact same thing. Drove down the runway and slammed into the cliff wall. I gotta tell you, I laughed.

As far as flying instructions go, Chris really gives you enough info. For the US hover jets, you just hold back and you will eventually start floating up and up, once you get high enough, start holding forward while keeping the nose pointed up and youll shoot off. For the non hover jets, they all have ample runway space to take off normally, you just hold forward constantly and you should be able to take off from anywhere after 50% of the runway.

Tight turning is really the hard part of jets.

The funniest things are when those people actually get the jets off of the carrier, such as in Gulf of oman (i believe tha'ts the one with the carrier), and when they run out of ammo and head back to the carrier to reload, they crash into the carrier command tower or just crash into the deck of the ship. I've actually seen a bunch of the idiots fly into the choppers trying to take off on the carrier as well.

The easiest way to turn imo is to completely flip the jet on the side you want to turn, and just hold the strafe key for that direction.

Hold W for normal thrust, left shift for afterburner.

The jet will fall at anything under 600kph.

Hold down after burner when taking off. Use the A and D keys to turn instead of the mouse until you get the hang of it. :)

Helos I can almost be s!itty at (keyboard and mouse) jets for get about it. And its really fustrinting as the only counter to a jet is another jet. This is really starting to ruin the game for me, Blackhaweks are rough but as anti tank I can make them look for softer targets. And the fix for bh is a few weeks away. But I havent found anything to counter a jet. Anti Air SAM's are way to weak and just dont bring them down. I dont buy a game that has no counter, If you fly a jet you win.

I just had a great game flying an F-15...I bombed the crap out of everyone for 34 kills, 0 deaths and took first place in the game :D

Air superiority is a nice thing.
