And is there any chance the retail release will run better, even though the demo was made during around the time the game went Gold?

This game owns...absolutely beautiful. be sure to install ForceWare 77.30 beta (included with BF2 demo), or ATI Catalyst 5.6. The NVIDIA drivers fixed all of the shadow problems and crashes in the BF2 demo for me.

Do you guys have the problem where the highest resolution isn't shown in the resolution list (video settings)? I only see 1152x864. I can go up to 1280x1024...every other game lists 1280x1024, and the scaling on my LCD can make the game look a little worse. Any ideas?

There is a way to set a custom resolution. By Abunai:

Put this at the end of your shortcut/.exe target command (right click the shortcut or .exe, select properties)...

+szx 1280 +szy 1024"

Change the value to whatever res you want and dont forget the quote at the end.

I dont know if you'll notice much of a difference from 12x9 though.
