BF2 "connection has been lost" caused by Dual Core

Yeah, weird. My system has been working fine for a few months now. I've had the 2 patches installed since the start, and have been playing BF2 fine. Lately however, I keep getting booted from servers with the 'your connection has been lost' message. After MUCH messing about, I started setting the affinity to 1 CPU for BF2 and since doing that everything is working fine again.

It's odd that this has only just started happening lately. I was thinking maybe a new server update was sent out (via Punkbuster) or whatever and it's causing this problem.

Anyone else experienced this?

what network adaptor are you using? i had the same problem when using the nvidia nforce4 intergrated ethernet, as soon as i switched to the other marwell ethernet on my mobo it stopped. i also have the dual core driver and hotfix installed, they were not the cause of the problem.

Hmm, that's interesting. I'm also using the nvidia nforce4 ethernet (I have the marvell disabled as I heard it was a bit sucky?) So you were also getting dropouts in BF2? (I should emphasise that the internet runs flawlessly 24/7, I never have any problems unless I'm playing BF2 (fixed since disabling one core, which obviously isn't ideal).

Ok, I'll give that a go next time I get the chance. Anything I should know regarding the Marvell ethernet before I start using it (I have an A8N SLI Premium)?

Thanks mate :)
